A Call & Message Reminder System

Abstract: A call and message reminder system integrated in a user"s vehicle that alerts the driver/rider of the vehicle about an incoming call/message without disturbing or diverting his/her attention and without violating any existing vehicle driving rules. The system consists of a receiver module that receives calls and messages diverted by the user"s mobile device when the user"s vehicle is in motion. The user is then subjected to audio alerts, alerting him about the missed calls and missed messages. The system also detects if the vehicle is in motion, and, if the user"s mobile is not deactivated during that time, it alerts user about the same. An alert generation module is thus included for alerting the user in such various scenarios. Finally, a display module displays the information related to diverted calls and messages on an instrument cluster of the vehicle when the vehicle is stationary for a pre-determined time.

FIELD OF DISCLOSURE
The present disclosure relates to the field of mobile communication. Particularly the present disclosure relates to providing mobile communicative facilities to riders of
two-wheelers.
BACKGROUND
Motor driving rules of various geographical locations do not allow vehicle drivers to communicate through their mobile phones while they are driving a vehicle. Motor vehicle rules of certain countries insist that the mobile phones of riders must be switched off during the course of driving a vehicle. Due to strict motor vehicle rules the driver/rider of a vehicle is obligated to switch his/her mobile phone off while he/she is driving a vehicle.
By switching off the mobile phone, the rider of the vehicle will miss the incoming calls and incoming messages. There is a possibility that certain incoming calls/messages have important information to be conveyed to the rider. Switching off the mobile phone would result in such information not being conveyed to the rider at the required time. But if the rider of the vehicle keeps his/her mobile phone in 'ON' mode, in order to receive important calls/messages, he /she would be violating the existing traffic rules.
Normally, vehicle riders tend to keep their mobile phones in 'ON' mode in order to receive any important phone calls/messages. However by doing so, they would be violating the existing motor vehicle rules. Another method employed by riders of vehicles to receive phone calls while driving is that the riders/drivers ask the pillion rider or the co-passenger of the vehicle to transfer the phone to the rider whenever there is an incoming phone call.
Another method employed by the riders to receive phone calls while driving/riding a vehicle is to insert the mobile phone between the helmet and their ear so that they could talk on the mobile phone while driving.

The drawback of using aforementioned methods to communicate using a mobile phone while driving results in loss of concentration and also diverts the attention of the driver from the road and oncoming traffic to speaking on the mobile phone.
Hence there was felt a need for a system which alerts the driver/rider of a vehicle about an incoming call/message but without disturbing the driving rhythm of the driver or without diverting the attention of the driver. There is also felt a need for a system that makes sure that the driver is alerted about the incoming calls/messages but without violating any of the existing motor vehicle rules.
Further, there is felt a need for a system which:
• reminds the driver that his/her mobile phone is in 'on' mode while the vehicle is in motion;
• stores all the calls and messages (SMS) that are directed to the driver's mobile number while the driver is driving a vehicle;
• sends an audible alert to the driver informing him/her about an oncoming call/message, thereby enabling the driver to stop the vehicle and respond to the call/message, if necessary;
• alerts the driver about missed calls and unread messages via blinking display messages, when the vehicle is stationary for a pre-determined time;
• does not display any caller related information when the vehicle is being driven by the driver and displays the caller related information only when the vehicle is stationary for a pre-determined time; and
• has an auto reply facility using which an automatic response can be sent to any caller while the driver is busy driving the vehicle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
The call and message alert system will now be described with reference to the accompanying, non-limiting drawings, in which:
FIGURE 1 illustrates a schematic of a call and message reminder system.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
The present disclosure envisages a call and message reminder system that can be used by the driver of a vehicle while driving a vehicle and also without violating any of the existing motor vehicle driving rules. The call and message reminder system, in accordance with the present disclosure is required to be connected to the mobile phone of the driver via well-known technologies including but not restricted to Bluetooth and infrared (IR). Subsequently, the call and message reminder system receives any phones calls and messages diverted to the driver's mobile phone and stores them for further reference.
The call and message reminder system, in accordance with the present disclosure determines whether the vehicle is in motion, and if it is determined that the vehicle is in motion, the system checks whether the mobile phone of the driver is in 'ON' mode. Such a checking takes place over the Bluetooth/Infrared connection that is established

between the system and the driver's mobile phone. Subsequent to the checking, if it is determined that the mobile phone of the driver is in 'ON' mode, the system issues an alert alerting the driver about the fact that his/her mobile phone is in 'ON' mode. Such an alert can be displayed to the driver on a display module of the system or optionally on the instrument cluster of the vehicle which display other vehicle related information such as vehicle speed, RPM, fuel gauge and the like.
In accordance with the present disclosure, the call and message reminder system stores all the incoming phone calls and messages diverted to the driver's mobile phone and issues an alert in the form of an audible message providing details about the name of the caller and the phone number of the caller. The call and message system further alerts the driver about the calls missed by the drivers and the incoming text messages by displaying them under the titles "MISSED CALLS" and "MESSAGES" respectively. The titles are typically displayed on the display module of the call and message reminder system or on the instrument cluster of the vehicle.
In accordance with the present disclosure, the call and message alert system is configured not to display any caller related information to the driver while the vehicle is in motion. The system alerts the driver about the incoming calls/messages through only an audible message while the vehicle is in motion. The system displays the caller related information or any incoming message related information only when the vehicle is stationary for a pre-determined time.
The call and message reminder system also enables the driver of a vehicle to merge/integrate his/her mobile phone's contact list. The integrated contact list is displayed either on the display module of the call and message reminder system or on the instrument cluster of the vehicle.
In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure the call and message reminder system is integrated onto/is a part of the instrument cluster of the vehicle.
In accordance with another embodiment of the present disclosure, the call and message reminder system is located separately from the instrument cluster but the system is connected to the instrument cluster for the purpose of displaying caller

related information and to perform other functions envisaged by the call and message reminder system.
In accordance with another embodiment of the present disclosure, the call and message reminder system is located separately from the instrument cluster and includes a separate processor for performing the functions envisaged by the call and message reminder system.
The call and message reminder system will now be explained with reference to the accompanying drawing which does not limit the scope and ambit of the present disclosure. The drawings do not limit the scope and ambit of the disclosure.
Referring to FIGURE 1, there is shown a call and message reminder system 100. The system 100, in accordance with this embodiment is integrated into the instrument cluster (not shown) of a vehicle. The system 100 includes a connection module 10 using which a mobile device 12 can be connected to system 100. The connection between the connection module 10 and the mobile device 12 is implemented using technologies including but not restricted to Bluetooth an
