DESC:“A ceiling fan for visual compactness, reduction in noise and higher delivery of air”. 5
FIELD OF INVENTION
[001] This invention relates to a ceiling fan for visual compactness, reduction in noise and higher delivery of air. The ceiling fan is 10 provided for visual compactness, reduction in noise and delivery of higher volume of air with the same power consumption.
BACKGROUND/PRIOR ART
15
[002] Conventional ceiling fan as provided in the art is illustrated in fig. 1.
[003] A motor cover (A1) accommodating motor is placed at one end of spindle of down rod (C1). Farther end of the down rod is connected 20 to shackle kit (S).
[004] According to the above provision, the complete motor of the fan is located away from the ceiling, therefore near to the user. This creates noise which is clearly heard causing disturbance to the users. 25
3
[005] Further as the fan motor is clearly visible to the user being closer there to, the ceiling fan appears bulky owing to bulkiness of the motor. 5
[006] Further a plurality of fan blades (B1) are mounted directly on the motor cover.
[007] Due to larger diameter of motor, blade span length is reduced 10 for a particular sweep size. Decrease in blade span leads to reduction in the surface area of blade, which in turn reduces the air delivery of the ceiling fan.
[008] Thus, the existing ceiling fans are having the blades fitted on 15 the motor cover thereof. Due to blade mounting on the cover, the ceiling fan looks bulky. Further, relevant blade length is comparatively smaller due to motor cover diameter for maintaining the sweep. Motor of the fan is fixed at its lower portion; due to which the occupant feels the place more noisy where the fan is installed. 20
[009] In view of the above it is required to devise a novel ceiling fan which can address the issues of prior art by being visually compact with less noise and delivery of more air consuming the same power during operation. 25
4
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0010] An object of the present invention is to provide a ceiling fan for 5 visual compactness, reduction in noise and higher delivery of air which overcomes disadvantages associated with the prior art.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a ceiling fan for visual compactness, reduction in noise and higher delivery of 10 air which is efficient.
[0012] Further object of the present invention is to provide a ceiling fan for visual compactness, reduction in noise and higher delivery of air which is simple in construction. 15
[0013] Yet another object of this invention is to propose a ceiling fan for visual compactness, reduction in noise and higher delivery of air for visual compactness to improve the visual appearance of fan, reduction in noise heard by occupant in the area of placement of fan 20 and delivery of higher volume of air in the same sweep size.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
25
[0014] According to this invention there is provided a ceiling fan for visual compactness, reduction in noise and higher delivery of air comprising of a connecting rod connected with a mounting hub at one end thereof, other end of which is connected to a motor housing,
5
wherein the smaller mounting hub is mounted with a plurality of longer fan blades in the same sweep of fan.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
5
[0015] Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings of exemplary embodiments of invention and wherein:
10
Fig. 1 shows: Front elevation of conventional ceiling fan.
Fig. 2 shows: Front elevation of ceiling fan according to present invention.
15
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
[0016] The present invention is pertinent to a ceiling fan for visual 20 compactness, reduction in noise and higher delivery of air.
[0017] According to teaching of the present disclosure, ceiling fan motor is hanged in close proximity to the ceiling and fan blades are mounted on smaller sized blade mounting hub integral to a 25 connecting rod. Motor mounting near to the ceiling of room reduces the noise of the fan because its distance from the occupant is increased. Further, multiple blades secured to smaller hub leads to
6
compact visual appearance of the ceiling fan and also increase in the 5 relevant length of blades. Owing to smaller sized hub, the relevant blade length increases in standard sweep size of the ceiling fan. The increased blade length results in increase in the surface area of blade, which in turn augments the air delivery through the fan in the same sweep compared to conventional ceiling fan. 10
[0018] The following description will explain more specifically and precisely only the ceiling fan comprising of a connecting rod connected with a mounting hub at one end thereof, other end of which is connected to a motor housing, wherein the smaller 15 mounting hub is mounted with a plurality of longer fan blades in the same sweep of fan without demonstrating further constructional details of the ceiling fan.
[0019] Now, reference may be made to fig. 2 regarding ceiling fan 20 implementing novel technology of invention.
[0020] The ceiling fan of the instant invention comprises a connecting rod (1) integrated to a mounting hub (2) at one end thereof. The mounting hub (2) is mounted with a plurality of blades (3) as 25 illustrated, wherein the mounting hub is smaller in size comparatively as already mentioned.
7
[0021] At other end of said connecting rod, spindle (4) is provided in 5 connection therewith. Thus, one end of the spindle is connected to the other end of the connecting rod. Again, other end of said spindle is connected to shackle kit (5), which is secured to a hook in the ceiling for hanging the fan.
10
[0022] A motor cover (6) accommodated in a motor housing (7) is placed under said shackle kit. The motor is mounted about the spindle and in proximity to the ceiling.
[0023] In addition to the above, a bracket (8) is connected across the 15 motor housing that the bracket is normally orthogonal to the spindle. Said bracket is preferably made of metal without restricting scope of the invention to the same. Thus, other materials readily apparent to a person skilled in the art are understood to be within purview of invention. 20
[0024] Here, the bracket is located between the kit and motor cover. The spindle is positioned through the motor cover and said bracket.
[0025] Due to smaller size of spindle, the fan motor hangs very close 25 to the ceiling which increases the distance from the occupant in the area of placement. Due to increase in distance, the noise intensity
8
produced by motor is less audible by the occupant. The whole motor 5 of the ceiling fan is covered with the help of motor housing. As the motor is obstructed by the hub, therefore it is not clearly visible by the user. Hence it improves the visual appearance of the fan giving rise a sense of compactness.
10
[0026] Further, smaller sized blade mounting hub leads to increase in the air delivery of the ceiling fan in the same sweep comparatively as already discussed.
Advantageous Features 15
[0027] – Improvement in visual appearance.
- Increase of air delivery in same sweep size.
- Decrease in audible noise to customer.
- Efficient in functioning. 20
[0028] It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present 25 invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:- ,CLAIMS:
