A Cell Concentrator
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a concentrator (100) for concentrating cells from a biological fluid. The concentrator includes a housing (1) and an orifice (12) defined at a bottom portion (1a)of the housing (1). At least one plunger (5) is movably disposed in the housing (1) and displaceable between an intermediate position (IP) and a second position (SP) for drawing fluid into the housing through the orifice (12). Further, a filter element (4) is disposed within the orifice (12). The filter element (4) is configured to concentrate the cells from the biological fluid drawn through the orifice (12), corresponding to displacement of the at least one plunger (5) from the intermediate position (IP) to the second position (SP). This configuration facilitates concentration of cells even in small volumes of the biological fluids and also without cell loss. Fig. 1 is the representative figure.
