A Centrifugal Fan For Imrpoved Heat Transfer In Belt Driven Stator Motor And The Method Of Its Uses

Abstract: The present invention discloses a centrifugal fan in a belt-driven starter generator (BSG) for effective convective heat transfer without compromising overall geometry and configuration of the fan base and blade profile. The inner sides of the blades of the centrifugal fans i.e front fan (4) and rear fan (10) are cut in halves as shown in FIG. 5(a) to increase the air suction area and to improve the convective heat transfer between the stator end windings (14), heat fins, ring magnet (11) and the hall sensors in the rear side of the BSG. The proposed invention enhances the effective forced convection heat in the rear side for the heat sink in BSG to perform at its maximum efficiency and thereby increasing the overall durability of BSG.
