A Compact Phased Array Radar System For Burden Profile Measurement In Blast Furnace
Abstract: The invention relates to a compact phased array radar system for accurate measurement of burden profile at blast furnace, comprising :- a circular patch antenna array matrix radiating microware energy; a beam forming circuit for the individual array elements for 2D surface scanning, wherein the beam approaching from the radar is enabled to scan the illuminated zones of the blast furnace, and wherein the acquired data from the illuminated zones are interpolated to determine the 2D-profile of the burden to be formed; a transmitter circuitory having a phase-locked oscillator, and a high power amplifier for feeding the transmitting antenna; and a super-heterodyne receiver having a low-noise amplifier, a mixer and a local oscillator for detection of the transmitted power.
