A Compact Retrofit Axle Lifting Mechanism

Abstract: The present invention relates to a simple retrofit-able axle lift mechanism for front second axle of a multi-axle vehicle. A compact pneumatically operated system (18) to lift and descend the axle of a multi-axle vehicle mounted on a suspension of a multi-axle vehicle, said system comprises, a movable top base (20) connected to a bottom base (21) through at least two guide channels (23A); a pair of U-bolt assemblies (24,24A) operably attached to said movable top base (20) and an axle beam; an inflatable resilient means (22) disposed between said movable top base (20) and said bottom base (21);wherein during un-laden condition said resilient means is inflated to lift said movable top base (20) and said axle beam; said resilient means (22)is deflated during laden condition to descend said movable top base (20) and said axle beam.
