FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a composition for management of weight or weight related disorders. The composition comprises gaiactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Prior art discloses various compounds or compositions for management of weight or weight related disorders. However, these are associated with one or more disadvantages. The present invention provides a composition which overcomes the limitations of prior art.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

The principal object of the present invention is to obtain a composition comprising gaiactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons.

Another object of the present invention is to obtain a composition for management of weight or weight related disorders.

Yet another object of the present invention is to obtain a process for preparing the composition.

Still another object of the present invention is to develop an organoleptically improved dietary fiber having defined galactomannan composition from Teestar™ having calorie / weight management property.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide organoleptically improved dietary fibre having defined galactomannan composition for lowering calorie absorption.

Still another object of the present invention is to make use of organoleptically improved dietary fibre having defined galactomannan composition for the weight management.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide novel compositions of galactomannan and methods for separation of bioactive compounds from Teestar™, which are capable of aiding in weight management through calorie management.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide novel compositions of galactomannan from Teestar™, which are capable of aiding in weight management through limiting the re-absorption of bile acids.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a composition for management of weight or weight related disorders, said composition comprises galactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons optionally alongwith acceptable additives.

In another embodiment of the present invention, the galactomannans are obtained from Trigonella foenum-graecum.

In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the additives are selected from a group comprising granulating agents, binding agents, lubricating agents, disintegrating agents, sweetening agents, coloring agents, flavoring agents, coating agents, plasticizers, preservatives, suspending agents, emulsifying agents and spheronization agents.

In still another embodiment of the present invention, the composition is formulated into dosage forms selected from a group comprising tablet, troches, lozenges, aqueous or oily suspensions, dispersible powders or granules, emulsion in hard or soft gel capsules, syrups, elixirs, phyotceuticals, neutraceuticals and food stuffs.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a composition comprising galactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons optionally alongwith acceptable additives, said process comprises step of mixing galactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons optionally alongwith acceptable additives to obtain the composition.

In still another embodiment of the present invention, the galactomannans are obtained from Trigonellafoenum-graecum.

The present invention relates to a method for management of weight or weight related disorders, said method comprises administering a therapeutically effective dose of a composition comprising galactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons optionally alongwith acceptable additives to a subject in need thereof.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the subject is animal including human being.

In another embodiment of the present invention, the composition is formulated into dosage forms selected from a group comprising tablet, troches, lozenges, aqueous or oily suspensions, dispersible powders or granules, emulsion in hard or soft gel capsules, syrups, elixirs, phyotceuticals, neutraceuticals and food stuffs.

The present invention provides an organoleptically improved dietary fiber having defined galactomannan composition obtained from Teestar™ for the weight management and calorie management, said composition comprising the galactomannan having molecular weight ranging from 75,000 Daltons to 2080000 Daltons, optionally along with acceptable additives; a method of managing the weight (obesity) in a subject in need thereof, said method comprising step of administering acceptable amount of organoleptically improved dietary fiber containing defined galactomannan composition obtained from Teestar having glycemic index lowering property, said composition comprising proteins 20 % w/w to 30 % w/w, and galactomannans 32 % w/w to 80 % w/w optionally along with acceptable additives to the subject. The galactomannan's having molecular weight ranging from 75,000 Daltons to 2080000 Daltons showed inhibition to glucose mobilization across the semi-permeable (cellophane tubing) as shown in the fig 1 and also showed greater water holding capacity (10 mg of galactomannan's having molecular weight ranging from 75,000 Daltons to 2080000 Daltons hold the water up-to 2000microliter of distilled water (i.e., lunit can hold up to 200 units of water).

The partial molecular weight analysis of the galactomannan mixtures having weight management or calorie management has been carried out. The analysis of galactomannan having molecular weight range from 213990 Daltons to 217000 Dalton showed presence of Galactose and mannose.

We Claim

1) A composition for management of weight or weight related disorders, said composition comprises galactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons optionally alongwith acceptable additives.

2) The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the galactomannans are obtained from Trigonella foenum-graecum.

3) The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the additives are selected from a group comprising granulating agents, binding agents, lubricating agents, disintegrating agents, sweetening agents, coloring agents, flavoring agents, coating agents, plasticizers, preservatives, suspending agents, emulsifying agents and spheronization agents.

4) The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said composition is formulated into dosage forms selected from a group comprising tablet, troches, lozenges, aqueous or oily suspensions, dispersible powders or granules, emulsion in hard or soft gel capsules, syrups, elixirs, phyotceuticals, neutraceuticals and food stuffs.

5) A process for preparing a composition comprising galactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons optionally alongwith acceptable additives, said process comprises step of mixing galactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons optionally alongwith acceptable additives to obtain the composition.

6) The process as claimed in claim 5, wherein the galactomannans are obtained from Trigonella foenum-graecum.

7) A method for management of weight or weight related disorders, said method comprises administering a therapeutically effective dose of a composition comprising galactomannans having molecular weight of 60000 daltons to 2100000 daltons optionally alongwith acceptable additives to a subject in need thereof.

8) The method as claimed in claim 7, wherein the subject is animal including human being.

9) The method as claimed in claim 7, wherein the composition is formulated into dosage forms selected from a group comprising tablet, troches, lozenges, aqueous or oily suspensions, dispersible powders or granules, emulsion in hard or soft gel capsules, syrups, elixirs, phyotceuticals, neutraceuticals and food stuffs.
