DESC:DESCRIPTION:
Field of the invention:
[0001] The present disclosure generally relates to the technical field of cosmetics and personal care, and in specific relates to a composition and method of preparation of herbal-based hair care product with improved efficacy, stability, and user experience.
Background of the invention:
[0002] Herbal hair products have been used for centuries for their natural and gentle properties. The herbal hair products are often made from plants, fruits, and vegetables that have been known to promote hair health. The herbal hair products can be used to treat a variety of hair conditions which include dandruff, dryness, and hair loss. The herbal hair products offer a number of benefits over synthetic or chemical-based hair care products.
[0003] Emulgels are versatile formulations used in the cosmetic and personal care industry, including hair care products. The emulgels combine the properties of both the emulsions (water and oil-based) and the gels (water-based), making them suitable for a wide range of hair care products. The emulgels can be used for various purposes, which include cleansing, conditioning and styling. Furthermore, the emulgels accommodate a broader range of ingredients, including both hydrophilic (water-loving) and lipophilic (oil-loving) components. Therefore, the versatility enables the emulgels to deliver a balanced and effective combination of ingredients to the hair and scalp.
[0004] Generally, the conventional herbal hair products are often gentler on the scalp and hair, and are less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions. The herbal hair products can also be just as effective as synthetic hair products in terms of cleansing, conditioning, and styling hair. However, even though the conventional herbal shampoos offer natural and gentle benefits, they also come with multiple drawbacks that include limited efficacy, unpleasant scent, short shelf life, low lather, and inconsistent colour or texture, which can deter some consumers from using the traditional products.
[0005] Furthermore, in specific, some users may find the scent of herbal shampoos less appealing than the fragrances found in synthetic shampoos. The conventional herbal shampoos have a shorter shelf life compared to the synthetic shampoos, which is due to the presence of fewer preservatives in the herbal shampoos and the natural ingredients can degrade over time, potentially leading to changes in odour, texture, or efficacy. The herbal shampoos tend to produce less foam or lather compared to the synthetic shampoos. While lather doesn't necessarily equate to cleansing effectiveness, some people prefer a foamy lather when washing the hair. The herbal shampoos may vary in colour and consistency due to the natural ingredients used in the composition. The variability or inconsistency can be off-putting for some users who prefer standardized products.
[0006] Therefore, there is a need for a composition of herbal emulgel that enhances efficacy by delivering active ingredients effectively for improved cleansing, conditioning and addressing specific hair concerns. There is also a need for a composition that enhances stability by extending the shelf life without compromising safety and efficacy. There is also a need for a composition that enhances user experience by creating a pleasant fragrance, desirable texture, and consistent appearance. There is also a need for a composition that provides sufficient lather while maintaining effective cleansing of user’s hair. There is also a need for a composition that is adaptable to various hair care functions and ingredient combinations. There is also a need for a composition that delivers specific ingredients to desired areas for optimal results through targeted delivery approach.
