Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition comprising coumestrol, and carnosic acid which at particular weight ratios exhibits enhanced pain or inflammation inhibition. This composition finds potential application in formulations which can inhibit pain or inflammation.
Claims:1. A composition comprising:
a. coumestrol; and
b. carnosic acid,
wherein coumestrol to carnosic acid w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:0.1 to 1:1.22.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein coumestrol weight percentage in said composition is in the range of 0.00045% to 0.0009%, and carnosic acid weight percentage in said composition is in the range of 0.00009% to 0.00055%.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein coumestrol to carnosic acid w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:0.25 to 1:1.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein coumestrol weight percentage in said composition is in the range of 0.0005% to 0.0008%, and carnosic acid weight percentage in said composition is in the range of 0.0002% to 0.0005%.
5. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein coumestrol to carnosic acid w/w ratio in said composition is 1:0.25.
6. The composition as claimed in claim 5, wherein coumestrol weight percentage in said composition is 0.0008%, and carnosic acid weight percentage in said composition is 0.0002%.
7. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein coumestrol to carnosic acid w/w ratio in said composition is 1:0.66.
8. The composition as claimed in claim 7, wherein coumestrol weight percentage in said composition is 0.0004%, and carnosic acid weight percentage in said composition is 0.0006 %.
9. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein coumestrol to carnosic acid w/w ratio in said composition is 1:1.
10. The composition as claimed in claim 9, wherein coumestrol weight percentage in said composition is 0.0005%, and carnosic acid weight percentage in said composition is 0.0005%.
11. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-10, further comprising carriers, diluents, and excipients.
12. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-11.
13. A method for inhibiting pain or inflammation, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-11; and
b. contacting said composition with a site of pain or inflammation,
wherein said method inhibits pain or inflammation.
