Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition and formulation comprising extracts of Aloe vera, Azadirachta. indica, and Nymphaea. alba useful for epithelial wound healing.
Claims:1. A composition comprising:
a. Aloe vera extract;
b. Azadirachta indica extract; and
c. Nymphaea alba extract,
wherein Aloe vera extract to Azadirachta indica extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:200-200:1, and Azadirachta indica extract to Nymphaea alba extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:200-200:1.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein Aloe vera extract to Azadirachta indica extract w/w ratio in said composition is 1:1, and Azadirachta indica extract to Nymphaea alba extract w/w ratio in said composition is 1:1.
3. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-2, further comprising: (a) an aqueous phase comprising: (i) water having weight concentration up to 100%; (ii) at least one chelating agent having weight concentration in the range of 0.1-0.2%; (iii) at least one thickening agent having weight concentration in the range 1.5-2%; and (iv) at least one humectant having weight concentration in the range of 5-15%; and (b) an oil phase comprising: (i) at least one occlusive having weight concentration in the range of 22-30%; (ii) at least one emollient having weight concentration in the range of 10-20%; and (iii) at least one emulsifier having weight concentration in the range of 4-5%; (c) at least one neutralizer having weight concentration in the range of 1.5-2%; (d) at least one preservative having weight concentration in the range of 0.05-0.5% (e) Aleo vera extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.02-4%; Azadirachta indica extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.02-4%; and Nymphaea alba extract weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.02-4%.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein
a. said at least one chelating agent is selected from the group consisting of nitrilotrimethylenetris (phosphonic acid), N, N- bis(carboxymethyl)- alanine, sodium calcium edetate, cyclohex- 1, 2- ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid), dibutyl oxalate, diethyl oxalate, di- sec- butyl oxalate, diisopropyl oxalate, dilithium oxalate, dimethyl oxalate, dipotassium dihydrogen ethylene diaminetetraacetate, dipotassium oxalate, dipropyl oxalate, disodium [[N, N'- ethylenebis[N- (carboxymethyl) glycinato]](4- )- N, N', O, O', ON, ON']cuprate(2- ), edetic acid, etidronic acid, N- (2- hydroxyethyl) ethylenediaminetriacetic acid, methyl cyclodextrin, oxalic acid, pentasodium hydrogen C, C', C''- nitrilotris (methylphosphonate), pentasodium (carboxylatomethyl) iminobis (ethylenenitrilo)tetraacetate, N- carboxymethyliminobis (ethylenenitrilo) tetra(acetic acid), fytic acid, tris (2-hydroxyethyl) ammonium trihydrogen ethylenediaminetetraacetate, 1, 1', 1'', 1'''- ethylenedinitrilo-tetrapropan- 2- ol, tetrapotassium (1- hydroxyethylidene) bisphosphonate, tetrasodium ethylenediamine-tetraacetate, tripotassium hydrogen ethylenediamine-tetraacetate, trisodium hydrogen ethylenediamine-tetraacetate, trisodium 2- (carboxylatomethyl (2- hydroxyethyl) amino)ethyliminodi(acetate), trisodium nitrilotriacetate, tetrasodium (1- hydroxyethylidene) bisphosphonate, disodium dihydrogen ethylenediamine-tetraacetate, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, and combinations thereof.
b. said at least one thickening agent is selected from the group consisting of acrylate polymer, carbopol ultrez 10, xanthum gum, hydroxyethyl acrylate, sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, isohexadecane, polysorbate 60, and combinations thereof.
c. said at least one humectant is selected from the group consisting of glycerine, triethylene glycol, tripropylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerin, sorbitol, hexylene, butylene glycol, urea, collagen, and combinations thereof.
d. said at least one occlusive is selected from the group consisting of petrolatum, beeswax, waxes, light liquid paraffin, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, omega 6, omega 3, animal wax, paraffine, qualene, silicone, cocoa butter, carnauba, canola oil, borage oil, cholesterol, monoglyceride, diglyceride and triglycerides, phospholipids, and combinations thereof.
e. said at least one emollient is selected from the group consisting ofC12-15 alkyl benzoate, cetosteryl alcohol, butyl isostearate, butyl myristate, butyl oleate, butyl stearate, butylene glycol dicaprylate / dicaprate, butylene glycol montanate, C11-15 pareth-12 stearate, C11-15 pareth-3 stearate, C12-13 alkyl lactate, C12-13 alkyl octanoate, C12-15 alkyl benzoate, C12-15 alkyl lactate, C12-15 alkyl octanoate, isocetyl myristate, isocetyl palmitate, isocetyl stearate, isodecyl citrate, isodecyl cocoate, isodecyl hydroxystearate, isodecyl laurate, isodecyl myristate, isodecyl neopentanoate, isodecyl octanoate, isodecyl oleate, isodecyl palmitate, isodecyl stearate, isopropyl palmitate, isopropyl myristate, isohexadecane, PEG-5 tricetyl citrate, PEG-5 tridecyl citrate, PEG-5 trilauryl citrate, PEG-5 trimyristyl citrate, PEG-5 tristearyl citrate, PEG-8 linoleate, PEG-8 linolenate, propylene glycol behenate, propylene glycol capreth-4, propylene glycol caprylate, propylene glycol ceteth-3 acetate, propylene glycol ceteth-3 propionate, propylene glycol citrate, propylene glycol cocoate, propylene glycol dicaprate, propylene glycol dicaproate, propylene glycol dicaprylate / dicaprate, propylene glycol diisostearate, propylene glycol dioctanoate.

g. said at least one neutralizer is selected from the group consisting of calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium oxide, triethanolamine care, and combinations thereof; and
h. said at least one preservative is selected from the group consisting of ascorbic acid, benzoic acid, butylparaben, C12-15 alcohols benzoate, dichlorobenzyl alcohol, ethylparaben, gum benzoin, imidazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparabens, phenyl mercuric acetate, polyaminopropyl biguanide, propyl gallate, propylparaben, quatemium-15, sodium borate, sodium debydroacetate, and combinations thereof.
5. The composition as claimed in claim 4, wherein
a. at least one preservative is ethylenediaminetetracetic acid having weight concentration in said composition of 0.1%;
b. at least one thickening agent is polyacrylic acid polymer having weight concentration in said composition of 1.5%;
c. at least one humectant is glycerine having weight concentration in said composition of 5%
d. at least one occlusive is petrolatum having concentration in said composition of 22%
e. at least one emulsifier is steareth-2 having weight concentration in said composition of 4%;
f. at least one emollient is iso propyl palmitate having weight concentration in said composition of 10%;
g. at least one neutralizer is triethanolamine having weight concentration in said composition of 1.5%;
h. at least one preservative is propyl paraben having weight concentration in said composition of 0.5%;
i. Aloe vera extract having weight concentration in said composition of 3.33%;
j. Azadirachta indica extract having weight concentration in said composition of 3.33%;
k. Nymphaea alba extract having weight concentration in said composition of 3.33%; and
l. water up to 100%.
6. A method to prepare a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a water phase prepared by contacting water, at least one chelating agent, at least one thickening agent, and at least one humectant at a temperature in the range of 45-85°C and stirring for 10-20 mins to obtain a mixture A;
b. obtaining an oil phase by contacting at least one occlusive, at least one emollient, and at least one emulsifier at temperature in the range of 75-85°C and stirring for 25-30 mins to obtain a mixture B,;
c. contacting mixture A and mixture B to obtain an emulsion A; and
d. contacting at least one neutralizer, at least one preservative, and extracts to emulsion A to obtain said composition.
7. A method to prepare a composition as claimed in claim 5, said method comprising:
a. contacting water, EDTA, polyacrylic acid polymer,and glycerine at a temperature in the range of 45-85°C to obtain a mixture I;
b. contacting petrolatum, iso propyl palmitate, and steareth-2 at a temperature of about 85°C to obtain a mixture II;
c. contacting mixture I and mixture II to obtain an emulsion I; and
d. contacting propyl paraben, triethanolamine, Aleo vera extract, Azadirachta indica extract, and Nymphaea alba extract to said emulsion I to obtain said composition.
8. A method to promote epithelial would healing, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-5; and
b. contacting said composition with site of epithelial wound,
wherein said method promotes epithelial wound healing.
