Abstract: The present disclosure provides a composition comprising of mangiferin, and beta-D-glucan, which at particular w/w ratios exhibits synergistic increase in cellular uptake of extracellular glucose. Also provided in the present disclosure are methods of promoting cellular uptake of glucose.

Specification

CLIAMS:1. A composition for promoting cellular uptake of extracellular glucose, said composition comprising:
a. mangiferin; and
b. beta-D-glucan.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein mangiferin to beta-D-glucan w/w ratio in said composition is 1.22:1-2.33:1.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, optionally comprising of suitable carriers, diluents, and excipients.
4. A method of promoting cellular uptake of extracellular glucose, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in claim 1; and
b. contacting said composition with a cell capable of extracellular glucose uptake;
wherein said method promotes cellular uptake of extracellular glucose.
5. A method of preparing the composition as claimed in claim 1.
6. Use of a composition as claimed in claim 1 in promoting intracellular uptake of glucose.
7. A method of management of glucose homeostasis, said method comprising of:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in claim 1; and
b. administering said composition to a person in need of managing glucose homeostasis.
