Abstract: The present disclosure provides a composition comprising phycocyanin and zinc sulfate, which at particular w/w ratios provides enhanced bone health. Also provided are formulations and methods of improving bone health.
1. A composition for enhancing alkaline phosphatase activity of osteoblast cells, said composition comprising: a. phycocyanin; and b. zinc sulfate, wherein phycocyanin to zinc sulfate w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:1-10:1.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein phycocyanin to zinc sulfate w/w ratio is in the range of 2.78:1-6.94:1.
3. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-2, wherein phycocyanin weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 15-25µg/ml, and zinc sulfate weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 2-10µg/ml.
4. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3.
5. A formulation for enhancing alkaline phosphatase activity of osteoblast cells, said formulation comprising: a. phycocyanin; b. zinc sulfate; and c. at least one suitable carriers, diluent, and excipient, wherein phycocyanin to zinc sulfate w/w ratio in said formulation is in the range of 1:1-10:1.
6. The formulation as claimed in claim 6, wherein phycocyanin to zinc sulfate w/w ratio in said formulation is in the range of 2.78:1-6.94:1.
7. A method of preparing a formulation as claimed in any of the claims 5-6.
8. A method of promoting bone health, said method comprising: a. obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3; and b. contacting said composition with bone tissue, wherein said method promotes bone health.
9. A method of promoting bone health, said method comprising: a. obtaining a formulation as claimed in any of the claims 5-6; and b. contacting said formulation with bone tissue, wherein said method promotes bone health.
10. A composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-2, optionally further comprises at least one suitable carrier, diluent, and excipient for use in promoting bone health. , Description:N/A
