Specification

Claims:1. A composition comprising:
a. bamboo callus extract; and
b. potato callus extract,
wherein bamboo callus extract to potato callus extract w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:1.5-1.5:1.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein bamboo callus extract weight percentage in said composition is in the range of 0.004-0.006%, and potato callus extract weight percentage in said composition is in the range of 0.004-0.006%.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein bamboo callus extract to potato callus extract w/w ratio in said composition is 1:1.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein bamboo callus extract weight percentage in said composition is 0.005%, and potato callus extract weight percentage in said composition is 0.005%.
5. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4, wherein said bamboo callus extract is prepared by a method selected from the group consisting of:
a. lyophilization method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. freeze drying said paste to obtain a frozen paste followed by lyophilization to obtain said extract;
b. liquid preparation method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with soy lecithin, glycerin, phenoxyethanol, xanthan gum, and deionized water to obtain said extract, wherein paste weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 7-12%, said soy lecithin weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.1-0.2%, said glycerin weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.2-0.6%, said phenoxyethanol weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 1-2%, said xanthan gum weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.3-0.6%, and water weight percentage is to make up to 100% to obtain said extract;
c. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate;
iii. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
d. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with methanol under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iii. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
e. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate, and a retentate;
iii. contacting said retentate with methanol under continuous stirring for at least 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iv. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
f. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with methanol under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate, and a retentate;
iii. contacting said retentate with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for at least 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iv. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract.
6. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4, wherein potato callus extract is prepared by a method selected from the group consisting of:
a. lyophilization method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. freeze drying said paste to obtain a frozen paste followed by lyophilization to obtain said extract;
b. liquid preparation method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with soy lecithin, glycerin, phenoxyethanol, xanthan gum, and deionized water to obtain said extract, wherein paste weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 7-12%, said soy lecithin weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.1-0.2%, said glycerin weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.2-0.6%, said phenoxyethanol weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 1-2%, said xanthan gum weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.3-0.6%, and water weight percentage is to make up to 100% to obtain said extract;
c. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iii. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
d. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with methanol under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iii. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
e. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate, and a retentate;
iii. contacting said retentate with methanol under continuous stirring for at least 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iv. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
f. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with methanol under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate, and a retentate;
iii. contacting said retentate with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for at least 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iv. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract.
7. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-6, wherein bamboo callus extract is obtained from bamboo callus generated from bamboo meristematic tissue, and potato callus extract is obtained from potato callus generated from potato meristematic tissue.
8. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-7, further comprising suitable carriers, diluents, and excipients.
9. A method of preparing bamboo callus extract by a method selected from the group consisting of lyophilization method, liquid preparation method, and solvent extraction method, said method comprising:
a. lyophilization method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. freeze drying said to obtain a frozen paste followed by lyophilization to obtain said extract;
b. liquid preparation method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with soy lecithin, glycerin, phenoxyethanol, xanthan gum, and deionized water to obtain said extract, wherein paste weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 7-12%, said soy lecithin weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.1-0.2%, said glycerin weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.2-0.6%, said phenoxyethanol weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 1-2%, said xanthan gum weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.3-0.6%, and water weight percentage is to make up to 100% to obtain said extract;
c. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iii. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
d. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with methanol under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iii. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
e. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate, and a retentate;
iii. contacting said retentate with methanol under continuous stirring for at least 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iv. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
f. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining bamboo calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with methanol under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate, and a retentate;
iii. contacting said retentate with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for at least 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iv. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract.
10. A method of preparing potato callus extract by a method selected from the group consisting of lyophilization method, liquid preparation method, and solvent extraction method, said method comprising:
a. lyophilization method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. freeze drying said paste to obtain a frozen paste followed by lyophilization to obtain said extract;
b. liquid preparation method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with soy lecithin, glycerin, phenoxyethanol, xanthan gum, and deionized water to obtain said extract, wherein paste weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 7-12%, said soy lecithin weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.1-0.2%, said glycerin weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.2-0.6%, said phenoxyethanol weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 1-2%, said xanthan gum weight percentage in said extract is in the range of 0.3-0.6%, and water weight percentage is to make up to 100% to obtain said extract;
c. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iii. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
d. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with methanol under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iii. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
e. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate, and a retentate;
iii. contacting said retentate with methanol under continuous stirring for at least 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iv. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract;
f. solvent extraction method comprising the steps of:
i. obtaining potato calli and contacting with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste, wherein said at least one preservative weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.2-0.4%, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight percentage in said paste is in the range of 0.1-0.3%;
ii. contacting said paste with methanol under continuous stirring for 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate, and a retentate;
iii. contacting said retentate with dichloromethane under continuous stirring for at least 18-24 hours at ambient temperature followed by filtration to obtain a filtrate; and
iv. drying said filtrate to obtain said extract.
11. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein bamboo callus extract is obtained from bamboo callus generated from bamboo meristematic tissue.
12. The method as claimed in claim 10, wherein potato callus extract is obtained from potato callus generated from potato meristematic tissue.
13. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein bamboo callus extract is obtained from Bambusa balocooa, and potato callus extract is obtained from Solanum tuberosum.
14. A method of promoting hair growth, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-8; and
b. contacting said composition with hair follicles,
wherein said method promotes hair growth.
15. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-7, and 13, said method comprising:
a. obtaining bamboo callus extract;
b. obtaining potato callus extract; and
c. contacting said extracts to obtain said composition.
16. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in claim 8, and 13, said method comprising:
a. obtaining bamboo callus extract;
b. obtaining potato callus extract;
c. obtaining suitable carriers, diluents, and excipients; and
d. contacting said extracts with suitable carriers, diluents, and excipients to obtain said composition.
