Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition comprising extracts of Santalum album, and Rose indica for inhibiting free iron activity. The disclosure also provides for a method of using the composition for various cosmetic applications.

Specification

Claims:1. A composition comprising:
(a) solvent extract of Santalum album calli;
(b) solvent extract of Rose indica calli,
wherein said solvent extract of Santalum album calli to solvent extract of Rose indica calli w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:5 to 5:1.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said solvent extract of Santalum album calli weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.01-0.05%, and solvent extract of Rose indica calli in said composition weight concentration is in the range of 0.01-0.05%.
3. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-2, wherein said solvent extract of Santalum album calli to solvent extract of Rose indica calli w/w ratio in said composition is 1:1, said concentration of solvent extract of Santalum album calli is selected from the range of 0.01-0.02% and said concentration of solvent extract of Rose indica calli is selected from the range of 0.01-0.02%.
4. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, wherein said composition further comprises diluents, excipients, and carriers.

A method to prepare a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-4; said method comprising mixing solvent extract of Santalum album calli with solvent extract of Rose indica calli, wherein said solvent extract of Santalum album calli is present in in said composition in weight range of 0.01-0.05%, and said solvent extract of Rose indica calli is present in said composition in the weight range of 0.01-0.05%.
6. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein said solvent extract of Santalum album calli to solvent extract of Rose indica calli w/w ratio in said composition is 1:1.
7. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein said solvent extract of Santalum album calli is prepared by the method comprising;
(a) obtaining Santalum album calli;
(b) grinding said Santalum album calli to obtain a paste;
(c) contacting said paste with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain a paste II;
(d) contacting said paste II with dichloromethane (DCM) and stirring at ambient temperature for 12-24 hrs to obtain a suspension;
(e) filtering said suspension to obtain a retentate;
(f) adding methanol to said retentate and stirring for 12-24hrs to obtain a second suspension;
(g) filtering said second suspension to obtain a filtrate; and
(h) drying said filtrate to obtain solvent extract of Santalum album calli.
8. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein said solvent extract of Rose indica calli is prepared by the method comprising;
(a) obtaining Rose indica calli;
(b) grinding said Rose indica calli to obtain a paste;
(c) contacting said paste with at least one preservative, and at least one anti-oxidant to obtain paste II;
(d) contacting said paste II with dichloromethane (DCM) and stirring for 12-24 hrs to obtain a suspension;
(e) filtering said suspension to obtain a retentate ;
(f) adding methanol to said retentate and stirring for 12-24hrs hrs to obtain a second suspension;
(g) filtering said second suspension to obtain a filtrate; and
(h) drying said filtrate to obtain solvent extract of Rose indica calli.
9. The method as claimed in any of the claims 7-8, wherein said at least one preservative is selected from the group consisting of phenoxyethanol, benzoic acid, propionic acid, and silver chloride, and said at least one preservative weight concentration in said paste II is in the range of 0.1-0.5%; said at least one anti-oxidant

is selected from the group consisting of ascorbic acid, and tocopherol, and said at least one anti-oxidant weight concentration in said paste II is in range of 0.1-0.5%.
