Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition for the enhancement of inhibition of acid induced intracellular pH changes. The present disclosure also relates to a food supplement and a method for the inhibition of acid induced intracellular pH changes. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a composition comprising lactobacillus sp., streptococcus sp., and extracts.
DESC:A COMPOSITION FOR ENHANCED INHIBITION OF ACID INDUCED INTRACELLULAR pH CHANGES AND USES THEREOF ,CLAIMS:1. A composition comprising:
a. lactobacillus;
b. streptococcus; and
c. extracts;
wherein, said composition enhances inhibition of acid induced intracellular pH changes.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lactobacillus is selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus helveticus, L. coryniformis, L. crispatus, L. delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus, L. delbrueckii subsp. delbrueckii, L. dellbrueckii subsp. Lactis, L. gasseri, L. jensenii, L. johnsonii, L. paraplantarum, L. reuteri, L. sakei, L. salivarius, preferably Lactobacillus casei ATCC SD5213
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the streptococcus is selected from the group consisting of Streptococcus thermophilus, Streptococcus salivarious, S. oralis, Streptococcus infantis, S. intermedius, S. mitis, S. mutans, S. oralis, S. pyogene, preferably Streotococcus thermophillus NCDC 303.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the extract is selected from the group consisting of ginger extract, lemon oil, liquorice extract, pectin, and glutamine.
5. The composition as claimed in claim 4, wherein the extract is ginger extract.
6. The composition as claimed in claim 4, wherein the extract is glutamine.
7. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the concentration of lactobacillus or streptococcus is in the range of 10 5 cfu/ml to 108 cfu/ml, preferably 106 cfu/ml.
8. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the concentration of the extract is in the range of 0.2%-0.05%, preferably 0.2%.
9. A food supplement or a food product comprising the composition as claimed in claim 1, further comprising suitable carriers, diluents, and excipients.
10. A method of enhancing the inhibition of acid induced intracellular pH change, said method comprising of contacting the composition as claimed in claim 1 with cells exposed to extracellular acid.
