Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition comprising of quercetin and genistein that promotes hair follicle activity, and inhibits the prostaglandin pathway. The present disclosure also provides a method of promoting hair growth and/or inhibiting the prostaglandin pathway.

Specification

DESC:A COMPOSITION COMPRISING QUERCETIN AND GENISTEIN AND USES THEREOF ,CLAIMS:1. A composition comprising:
a. quercetin; and
b. genistein.

2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said composition inhibits prostaglandin D2 or prostaglandin D2 synthase.

3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said composition promotes hair growth.

4. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein quercetin to genistein w/w ratio in said composition is 4:1 to 1:4, preferably 4:1.

5. A formulation comprising a composition as claimed in claim 1.

6. The formulation as claimed in claim 5, wherein quercetin to genistein w/w ratio in said formulation is 4:1-1:4, preferably 4:1.

7. The formulation as claimed in claim 5, further comprising of suitable carriers, diluents, and excipients.

8. A method of inhibiting prostaglandin pathway or promoting hair growth, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in claim 1 or a formulation as claimed in claim 5; and
b. contacting said composition or formulation with hair follicle,
wherein said method inhibits prostaglandin pathway or promotes hair growth.
9. The method as claimed in claim 8, wherein quercetin to genistein w/w ratio in said composition or formulation is 4:1-1:4, preferably 4:1.

10. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in claim 1 or a formulation as claimed in claim 5.
