Abstract: A composition of flavored beverage with a neurotransmitter and the method of preparation thereof [0033] The invention discloses a composition of flavored beverage with a neurotransmitter and a method of preparation. The composition comprises GABA, L-Theanine, water, sugar, salt, citric acid, sodium benzoate. The beverage is selected from a group of fruits such as a guava crush, a green apple with kiwi crush. The method of preparation comprises mixing the composition of the beverage (201), pasteurizing the mixture at a temperature range between 650C to 850C (202), homogenizing the pasteurised concentrate (203), filtering to remove residual sediments (204), filling the mixture into the container at a temperature range between 550C to 650C (205) followed by cooling at a temperature range between 250C to 300C (206). The beverage relieves stress and anxiety, improves mood and has calming effect because of the neurotransmitter GABA and the amino acid L-theanine. Claims:We Claim:

1. A composition of flavored beverage with a neurotransmitter, the composition comprises:
a. gamma amino butyric acid (GABA) at a concentration in the range between 0.19% to 0.26%;
b. an amino acid L-theanine at a concentration in the range between 0.06% to 0.07%;
c. water at the range between 85.08% to 86.6%;
d. sugar at a concentration in the range between 3.39% to 4.71%;
e. an acidity regulator citric acid at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%;
f. salt at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%;
g. a preservative sodium benzoate at a concentration of 0.01%;
h. a fruit pulp; and
i. a flavoring agent.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein L- theanine alters the dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fruit pulp is selected from a group comprising guava at a concentration of 8.28%, green apple at a concentration of 5.55% in combination with kiwi fruit at a concentration of 5.55%.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the flavoring agent of the fruit flavored beverage is at a concentration of 0.02% in combination with guava pulp, wherein the flavoring agent is at a concentration of 0.07% in combination with green apple and kiwi pulp of the fruit flavored beverage.
5. A method for preparation of the flavored beverage comprises the steps of:
a. mixing GABA at a concentration in the range between 0.19% to 0.26%, L-theanine at a concentration in the range between 0.06% to 0.07%, water at a range between 85.08% to 86.6%, sugar at a concentration in the range between 3.39% to 4.71%, an acidity regulator citric acid at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%, salt at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%, a preservative sodium benzoate at a concentration of 0.01%, a fruit pulp of guava at a concentration of 8.28% with the flavoring agent at a concentration of 0.02% for a guava variant beverage, wherein a fruit pulp of green apple in combination with kiwi pulp at a concentration of 5.55% each with a flavoring agent at a concentration of 0.07% for a green apple with kiwi variant beverage, to achieve a blended mixture (201);
b. pasteurizing the blended mixture at a temperature range between 650C to 850C. (202);
c. homogenizing the pasteurized concentrate to form a uniform mixture thereby forming a stable emulsion (203);
d. filtering the homogenized concentrate to remove residual sediments (204);
e. filling the filtered mixture into a container at a temperature of 550C to 650C (205); and
f. cooling the container or the pack to temperature range between 250C to 300C (206).

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Technical field of the invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a composition of a flavored beverage with a neurotransmitter and a method of preparation thereof. More particularly, the invention relates to a fruit flavoured beverage supplemented with a gamma amino butyric acid, an inhibitory neurotransmitter known to inhibit or block few brain signals in the nervous system.
Background of the invention
[0003] Gamma Amino Butyric Acid or ?-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an inhibitory neurotransmitter known for reducing the neuronal excitability in the nervous system. GABA is produced in the brain from glutamate via the enzyme glutamate decarboxylase with pyridoxal phosphate as a co factor. GABA belongs to a class of inhibitory neurotransmitter, since it blocks or inhibits certain brain signals and decreases the activity in the nervous system. Thereby, GABA is known to produce a calming effect and aids in relieving anxiety, stress and fear. Additionally, GABA produces several beneficial effects such as preventing seizure and premenstrual symptoms etc.
[0004] Studies further prove that the neurotransmitter supplement exhibits an effect in improving the sleep quality and relieves from insomnia condition too, along with aiding in reducing the mental and physical fatigue. Several anti-anxiety drugs too are found to have a function of enhancing the activity of GABA in the brain, thereby relieves the anxiety symptoms in individual under such medication.
[0005] Therefore, GABA is used in a wide variety of beverages to aid as a stress reliever and sleep inducer, but the neurotransmitter is widely found in several caffeinated and alcoholic beverage formulations. Thus, several food beverages and flavored drinks are prepared using GABA as supplement in order to overcome stress and anxiety related issues and to exploit the beneficiary effects of GABA as a non-alcoholic and a non-caffeinated drink.
[0006] The use of GABA in caffeinated and alcoholic beverages may not be widely consumed, because of the added effects of the caffeinated and alcoholic beverage. Hence, several non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated beverages are formulated as flavored beverage supplemented with GABA in order to be consumed by all age categories.
[0007] The patent application “CN104872768A” titled “Preparation process of GABA food beverage” discloses a preparation process of GABA food beverage. The process comprises the steps of: (1) preparing rice-grain sprouts from rough rice containing GABA, (2) extracting a maltase solution by a leaching method, (3) preparing liquor rice liquid, (4) mixing 1 part of GABA rice-grain sprouts obtained in the step (1) with the maltase solution, obtained in the step (2) at a temperature of 500C. The mixture is incubating for 1 hour at a temperature of 450C, further incubation is carried out for 30 minutes with a series of temperatures range such as 700C, 800C, 850C, 900C. Once the incubation process is complete, the solution is filtered, followed by addition of 10% of liquor rice liquid flavoring obtained in the step (3), the beverage is canned, and a high temperature sterilization is carried out for 15 min at a temperature of 1210C to obtain a GABA food beverage.
[0008] The Patent Application CN104509919A titled “Functional nutrient beverage” discloses a series of combinations formulated and a production method of the functional nutrient beverage. The gamma-aminobutyric acid, vitamin B6 and taurine are checked for compatibility and subsequently to provide a synergy effect. Additionally, a variety of vitamins, amino acids, non-protein amino acids, electrolytes, functional health promoting components and other components are matched. The purpose being to formulate a functional nutrient beverage comprising a wide-range of nutritional components. The vitamin beverage, the amino acid nutrition beverage, the sport beverage, the nutrition tea beverage and similar nutrient beverages are blended so as to provide a variety of nourishing effects and to prevent potential nutrient deficiencies in the body function. Vitamins, amino acids and other nutrients are substituted so as to improve immunity, also components having an effect of stress relieving, calming, brain activity enhancing, nerve cell nourishing, memory improving, brain blood circulation promoting, spirit relaxing, body function health conditioning, and aging resistance are provided.
[0009] The Patent Application CN107348298A titled “Gamma-aminobutyric acid prebiotic solid beverage and preparation method thereof” discloses a gamma-aminobutyric acid prebiotic solid beverage and a preparation method thereof. The solid beverage comprises gamma-aminobutyric acid, fruit powder, vegetable powder, cereal powder, prebiotics, mogroside and steviol glycoside. The preparation method comprises the following steps of adequately and uniformly mixing the raw materials to obtain the solid beverage. The solid beverage provided by the invention is scientific in formula, relevant and the components are well complementing. The solid beverage is rich in nutrition, uniform in color and granules, instant when being brewed with water, clear in soup color, rich in fruit taste having a moderate sour and sweet savor, delicious, mild savory aroma and a nutritive drink suitable for any season.
[0010] The Patent Application CN101940325A titled “Sports beverage containing gamma-aminobutyric acid” discloses a sports beverage which contains 0.003%-0.05% of gamma-aminobutyric acid based on weight percentage, wherein content of other nutrient components meets the requirement for the national sports beverage standard. The invention comprises fruit juice, plant extracting solution and similar extracts supplemented to the sports beverage, thus achieving the function of supplementing the gamma-aminobutyric acid, electrolyte, vitamin and energy in the beverage. Therefore, the drink facilitates a player to effectively prolong exercise time, strengthening, antifatigue effect of body, effectively improving cerebral blood circulation, increasing oxygen supply, activating potential of the player, maintaining balance of water and electrolyte of human body and meeting the demands of high-intensity exercises of body and the sports beverage can also help relax physical and emotional discomfort of the high-stress player.
[0011] The existing prior art mainly consists of alcoholic beverage supplemented with GABA and caffeinated beverage with GABA, which do not cater to a larger mass.
[0012] The fruit-based beverages or the processed flavored water have a drawback of leading to insomnia and restlessness based on the GABA content used in preparing the beverage. Moreover, employs a tedious process in preparation of the GABA beverage.
[0013] Therefore, a need to formulate a concentration of GABA to function with an optimal effect on the nervous system in providing the beneficial effects without over inducing the effect associated with the GABA, also a simple and easy process in preparation of the beverage is essential.
[0014] Hence, there is a need to prepare a non-alcoholic beverages and non- caffeinated beverage supplemented with the neuro transmitter GABA.
Summary of the invention
[0015] The invention relates to a flavoured beverage with a neurotransmitter to overcome the stress and anxiety and to enhance the mood by supplementing it with GABA. More particularly, the invention discloses a fruit flavoured beverage supplemented with GABA in the right concentrations to induce sleep as well as to help relax from stress and anxiety.
[0016] The invention is a prepacked blend of hot filled fruit flavoured beverage. The fruit flavoured beverage comprises GABA at a concentration in the range between 0.19% to 0.26%, an amino acid L-theanine at a concentration in the range between 0.06% to 0.07%, water in the range between 85.08% to 86.6%, sugar at a concentration in the range between 3.39% to 4.71%, salt at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%, an acidity regulator citric acid at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%, a preservative sodium benzoate at a concentration of 0.01%. Additionally, the beverage also comprises of fruit pulp extract such as guava pulp at a concentration of 8.28% and flavoring agent at a concentration of 0.02% for the guava flavor of the beverage. Another flavor of the beverage comprises of a kiwi pulp at a concentration of 5.55%, green apple pulp at a concentration of 5.55% and a fruit flavoring agent at a concentration of 0.07% for green apple and kiwi variant. Furthermore, the variants of the beverage are formulated to contain several other fruit pulp as flavored beverages.
[0017] The ingredients of the composition of the beverage are mixed as per the proportions to produce a concentrate. Once the concentrate is blended, the mixture is pasteurized at a temperature range between 650C to 850C, the pasteurised concentrate is homogenized and filtered. The filtered mixture is hot filled into a suitable container at a temperature range between 550C to 650C, followed by cooling the container to a temperature range between 250C to 300C.
[0018] The product of the invention contains GABA at a suitable concentration that overcomes the drawbacks such as restlessness and insomnia as a result of consuming caffeinated GABA drinks and also the similar drawbacks of consuming an alcoholic beverage supplemented with GABA. Since, the caffeinated and alcoholic beverage are not suitable for a large number of people. Further, the natural fruit flavor beverage is much likely to be consumed by any age and category of people and also based on the effects of the GABA, the fruit flavored beverage is optimized in the present composition hence a better option. Additionally, the fruit flavored beverage being a non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated drink does not cause the overlapping effects associated with the alcoholic and caffeinated drink along with the effects associated with GABA.
[0019] The composition of the invention aids in relieving anxiety and stress. The composition aids in reducing depression, increases focus and mental relaxation based on the concentration of the GABA and L-theanine in the formulated fruit flavored beverage such that the effects are well established.

Detailed description of the invention
[0023] In order to make the matter of the invention clear and concise, the following definitions are provided for specific terms used in the following description.
[0024] The term “Neurotransmitter” refers to the chemical messengers, which transmit signals across a chemical synapse of the neurons in the nervous system.
[0025] The term “Homogenization” refers to a process of making a uniform blend of a mixture to be equally distributed in a solution.
[0026] The present invention provides a composition of fruit flavoured beverage with a neurotransmitter and the method of preparation. The invention discloses a fruit flavoured beverage supplemented with gamma amino butyric acid (GABA).
[0027] FIG 1 tabulates the percentage composition of the fruit flavored beverage. The ingredients of the formulation as tabulated in FIG 1 comprises GABA at a concentration in the range between 0.19% to 0.26%, an amino acid L-theanine at a concentration in the range between 0.06% to 0.07%, water in the range between 85.08% to 86.6%, sugar at a concentration in the range between 3.39% to 4.71%, an acidity regulator citric acid at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%, salt at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%, a preservative sodium benzoate at a concentration of 0.01%, fruit pulp and flavoring agent.
[0028] The fruit pulp is selected from a group of fruit such as guava, green apple in combination with kiwi. The beverage comprises of a guava pulp at a concentration of 8.28% and a fruit flavor at a concentration of 0.02% for the guava variant of the beverage. Additionally, the beverage comprises of a kiwi pulp at a concentration of 5.55% in combination with a green apple pulp at a concentration of 5.55% and a fruit flavor at a concentration of 0.07% for green apple with kiwi variant of the beverage. Furthermore, the variants of the beverage are not restricted to said fruit flavors and may contain several other fruit pulps in the beverages.
[0029] FIG 2 illustrates the flow chart for a method for the preparation of the fruit flavored beverage. The method of preparation of the flavoured beverage (200) starts with a step (201) of mixing GABA at a concentration in the range between 0.19% to 0.26%, an amino acid L-theanine at a concentration in the range between 0.06% to 0.07%, water in the range between 85.08% to 86.6%, sugar at a concentration in the range between 3.39% to 4.71%, an acidity regulator citric acid at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%, salt at a concentration in the range between 0.05% to 0.06%, a preservative sodium benzoate at a concentration of 0.01%, fruit pulp and flavoring agent to form a blended mixture. At step (202), the blended mixture is pasteurized at a temperature range between 650C to 850C. At step (203), the pasteurized concentrate is homogenized to a uniform mixture to form a stable emulsion. At step (204), the homogenised concentrate is filtered to remove the residual sediments from the mixture. At step (205), the filtered mixture is hot filled into a container or a pack at a temperature range between 550C to 650C. At step (206), the container is cooled at a temperature range between 250C to 300C.
[0030] The container may be bottles or packs such as plastic bottles, glass bottles, aluminum tin or a tetra packed carton.
[0031] The GABA component of the beverages functions as an inhibitory neurotransmitter that relieves stress and enhances the mood and also relieves from insomnia condition. The amino acid L- theanine affects the dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain, thereby improving mood and stress levels, cognitive health, and also relieves from insomnia. Hence, GABA and L-theanine are formulated in an optimum range in order to extract the beneficiary effect of the components.
[0032] The composition of the invention contains GABA components at a concentration suitable to regulate the nervous system and provide the beneficiary effects thus overcoming the drawbacks such as restlessness and insomnia when consumed as a caffeinated beverage. Further, the beverage being a non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated drink does not cause the ill effects associated with the alcoholic and caffeinated drink and does not limit to a selected group of individual but can be consumed by any age group.
