DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a connector for gas flow system of a gas appliance. More particularly, the present invention relates to a connector for transferring gas from the gas valve to the mixing tube by eliminating the use of bandy pipes. Further, the present invention relates to a connector capable of connecting at different planes and at different angles for transferring gas. Advantageously, the connector ensures smooth flow of gas and improves thermal efficiency.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Generally, gas valves are used for adjusting the flame of burners of a gas stove using knobs. When the knob is in the 0° position the burner is closed, while with the knob in the 90° position the burner is fed at maximum flow, then in passing from 90° to about 140° there is a progressive reduction in flow through the burner until the minimum value is reached, then from 140° to 180° the feed is interrupted and the flow is increased to its maximum value, and finally after passing the 180° position the gas flow decreases until its minimum value, at the knob stop position.

There is provided one gas valve for one burner and connected by providing a bandy pipe in between the gas valves and mixing tube. These gas valves connects a gas supply part of a gas appliance to a gas stopper by a separate connecting structure, and supplies gas to a gas supply part of a gas appliance. When the gas valve is connected to the bandy pipe, there is a possibility of gas leakage depending on its skill level and accuracy. There is also a possibility of accumulation of dust particles in the gas valve. These dust particles should be cleaned by removing the gas valve and bandy pipe assembly which leads to damage of bandy pipe or wear and tear of bandy pipe or loose connection resulting again in leakage of gas. Additionally, manufacturing of the bandy pipe involves more cost and time.

EP1438529 discloses a gas plug connector. The invention relates to a gas plug connector which ensures an adaptation of the position of the gas plug connector with regard to the outer surface of the wall and thus a compensation for deviations of position from the gas line that is installed in a fixed manner. The gas plug connector is comprised of housing, of a closing device and of a fastening element. The closing device projects, with a tubular sleeve and in a gas tight manner, into the housing that, inside, comprises a springy retaining ring placed in a groove. However the gas plug connector of this type is costly.

JP2000329270 discloses a connector for gas cock. The connector consists mainly of the connection port of a connection pipe, and a cylindrical body having the insertion port of a hose end. A retainer is provided at the end part of the insertion port with a fixing part fixed at this end part, a lock part fitted in the outer peripheral groove of the hose end when it is elastically deformable and elastically deformed radially and internally in a body, and a tape part causing the lock part to bend radially internally. An operation ring having a press piece engaged with the outer peripheral surface of a body in a screwing manner and bending the lock part radially, and internally through contact with the taper part of a retainer is assembled on the outer peripheral surface of the body. However the connector does not ensures smooth flow of gas.

JP2850173 relates to gas cock connector. The gas cock connector is provided with a frame having a fixed part, a tube which has a flexible pipe connector to which a flexible pipe is connected located on its one end, and has a gas cock connector to which a gas cock is connected via a connecting a pipe, located on its other end and which is provided on the frame so as to move in the axial direction of the gas cock connector, and a fixing mechanism which is provided between the frame and the tube fitting for fixing the tube fitting to the frame. Since the tube fitting is constituted to move in the axial direction of the gas cock connector, the end of the connecting pipe is arranged in the gas cock mounting position and the tube fitting is fixed to the frame by the fixing device. The connector is not capable of connecting at different planes and at different angles for transferring gas.

JP3955274 discloses a gas hose connection structure. The gas hose connection structure comprises a pipe connector with one end thereof attached to a connection part of a gas cock, a sleeve installed on an outer surface of the pipe connector slidably in the longitudinal direction, a coil spring which is interposed between the pipe connector and the sleeve to return the sleeve along the pipe connector, a fixed key installed on one of the pipe connector and the sleeve, and a socket which is installed on one end part of the pipe connector to fix a gas hose to the pipe connector by the operation of the sleeve. The connector is very costly.

3250/CHE/2012 discloses a non leak gas cock. The gas cock is a type of plumbing fitting used to control the flow of gas. Usually, a Gas cock comprising a housing fitted with a valve with two inlet ports, one of maximum and another for minimum. But it cannot provide 100% leak proof even when port is in closed condition because two tapper cones cannot be seal proof under pressure but the invention (improved gas cock) does do the sealing and also leading to saving of gas. By using a gasket in the valve positioned to inlet port of the housing, so it can be 100% leak proof. The connector is not capable of connecting at different planes and at different angles for transferring gas.

The present invention as herein described relates to a connector for transferring gas through the gas valve to the mixing tube of a gas appliance. Further the present invention relates to a connector capable of connecting at different planes and at different angles for transferring gas.

Referring to figures 1 and 2, a plug nut [1], one or more O rings [2], a gas cock [3], an inlet [8] and outlet [9] is illustrated. The inlet further comprises of one or more rubber washers and metal washers. The outlet further comprises of a jet and a jet guide clamp. The inlet, outlet and the plug nut are aligned at different planes and at different angles. The gas valve and the mixing tube at different planes and different angles are connected without altering their position using the connector.

The inlet of the connector is secured to the gas valve through one or more rubber washers and metal washers. The outlet of the connector is clamped to the mixing tube through the jet and jet guide clamp. The jet guide clamp holds and aligns the mixing tube in parallel to the axis of jet. The plug nut is inserted into the connector at its top portion through one or more ‘O’ rings.

The dust particles are accumulated inside the connector near the plug nut. The plug nut is detached to remove the accumulated dust particles in the connector. The connector collects dust particles and prevents dust to pass through the jet; thereby avoid clogging of jets, ensuring smooth flow of gas through the jet. The plug nut acts as an end closure to avoid escape of gas and is used to remove the collected dust particles. The O ring, rubber washer, and metal washer act as sealant to avoid gas leakage.

The gas cock is made of metal, non-metal or composite material, preferably aluminium. The jet is made of metal, non-metal or composite material, preferably brass. The jet guide clamp is made of metal, non-metal or composite material, preferably stainless steel. The plug nut is made of metal, non-metal or composite material, preferably nylon 6.30% GF. The O ring is made of cotton, wool or fabric material, preferably rubber. The rubber washers are made of cotton, wool or fabric material, preferably silicone. The metal washers are made of metal, non-metal or composite material, preferably brass.

Advantages:
• Improves thermal efficiency
• Dust can be eliminated or removed easily.
• Complication of pipe assembly between mixing tube and gas cock is eliminated.
• Low flame issue can be resolved.
• Cost reduction.
• Any ant going inside the jet is avoided.
• Knobs and valves can be placed at any angle or any plane with respect to mixing tube.
• Dust can be easily cleaned.
• Bandy pipe is eliminated.
