Abstract: ABSTRACT A CORE TUBE FOR A CYLINDRICAL CELL The present subject matter relates to a core tube (100) for a cylindrical cell. The core tube (100) comprises a hollow cylinder (102) having circumferential wall of predefined thickness configured to be positioned at a 5 center of a jelly roll of an electrode assembly of the cylindrical cell, and a support element (108) having an L-shaped cross section positioned in a first half along a length of the hollow cylinder (102). The support element (108) has a first arm (108-1) and a second arm (108-2) perpendicular to each other, such that a semi-cylindrical opening is formed in a second half along 10 the length of the hollow cylinder (102) to accommodate a winding mandrel (104) during a winding process to form the electrode assembly. Further, the core tube (100) comprises a longitudinal slit (106) extending along the length of the hollow cylinder (102) to grip a separator (112) of the electrode assembly during the winding process. 15 <>
