Abstract: ABSTRACT A CORE TUBE FOR A CYLINDRICAL CELL The invention relates to a core tube (100) for a cylindrical cell comprising a cylinder (102) configured to be positioned at a center of a jelly roll of an electrode assembly of the cylindrical cell (200). The cylinder has a circumferential wall with an outer diameter and an inner diameter. The inner diameter varies along a length of the cylinder, such that a top of the cylinder has a first inner diameter (ID1), a bottom of the cylinder has a third inner diameter (ID3), and a throat region (108) of the cylinder between the top and bottom of the cylinder has a second inner diameter (ID2). The third inner diameter (ID3) is greater than the first inner diameter (ID1), and the first inner diameter (ID1) is greater than the second inner diameter (ID2). <>
