A Cored Wire For A Metallurgical Treatment Of Molten Metal And A Manufacuring Method Thereof

Abstract: “A CORED WIRE FOR A METALLURGICAL TREATMENT OF MOLTEN METAL AND A MANUFACURING METHOD THEREOF” ABSTRACT Present disclosure discloses a cored wire (100) for metallurgical treatment of a molten metal is disclosed. The cored wire comprises an outer sheath (1), powder of iron or any other suitable additives and a calcium rod (4). The calcium rod (4) is concentrically disposed within the outer sheath (1) about an axis (A-A) to define at least one gap (5) radially between the outer sheath (1) and the calcium rod (4). Further, a metallic wire (3) is radially wound around the calcium rod (4) and extends along a length of the calcium rod (4). The metallic wire (3) is disposed within the at least one gap (5) and contacts the outer sheath (1). The metallic wire (3) is configured to restrain the calcium rod (4) at a central position with respect to the outer sheath (1) during treatment of the molten metal by the cored wire.
