Abstract: The present disclosure describes a cosmetic composition comprising: (a) ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate; (b) ethylhexyl salicylate; (c) methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (and) aqua (and) decyl glucoside (and) propylene glycol (and) xanthan gum; (d) at least one thickening agent; and (e) at least one silicone, wherein the at least one thickening agent and the at least one silicone has a weight ratio in the range of 1:0.1 – 1:5. The disclosure also describes a process of preparation of said cosmetic composition.
Claims:1. A cosmetic composition comprising:
a) ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate;
b) ethylhexyl salicylate;
c) methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (and) aqua (and) decyl glucoside (and) propylene glycol (and) xanthan gum;
d) at least one thickening agent; and
e) at least one silicone,
wherein the at least one thickening agent and the at least one silicone has a weight ratio in the range of 1:0.1 – 1:5.
2. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one thickening agent is Sodium Polyacrylate (and) Dimethicone (and) Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, and combinations thereof.
3. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one silicone is selected from the group consisting of cyclopentasiloxane (and) dimethicone Crosspolymer, dimethicone, and combinations thereof.
4. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, comprising:
(a) ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate having a weight percentage of 5.5 % with respect to the composition;
(b) ethylhexyl salicylate having a weight percentage of 2.5 % with respect to the composition;
(c) methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (and) aqua (and) decyl glucoside (and) propylene glycol (and) xanthan gum has a weight percentage of 1 % with respect to the composition;
(d) at least one thickening agent having a weight percentage in the range of 1 -10 % with respect to the composition; and
(e) at least one silicone having a weight percentage in the range of 1 - 5 % with respect to the composition.
5. The cosmetic composition as claimed in any of the claim 1 or 4, further comprises at least one cosmetically acceptable excipient selected from the group consisting of chelating agent, humectant, antioxidant, cooling agent, preservatives, actives, colorant, fragrance, and combinations thereof.

The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 5, wherein the chelating agent has a weight percentage in the range of 0.01 – 0.08 % with respect to the composition, and the chelating agent is selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, ethylene diamine tetraacetoacetate, and combinations thereof; the humectant has a weight percentage in the range of 0.01 – 5.0 % with respect to the composition, and the humectant is selected from the group consisting of glycerin, allantoin, D-panthaneol, and combinations thereof; the antioxidant has a weight percentage in the range of 0.01 – 0.90 % with respect to the composition, and the antioxidant is vitamin E acetate, and combinations thereof; the cooling agent has a weight percentage in the range of 0.05 – 0.6 % with respect to the composition, and the cooling agent is selected from the group consisting of menthol crystals, menthyl lactate crystals, and combinations thereof; the preservatives has a weight percentage in the range of 0.1 – 1.0 % with respect to the composition, and the preservative is selected from the group consisting of phenoxyethanol, Methylisothiazolinone (and) Methylparaben (and) Propylparaben (and) Phenoxyethanol, and combinations thereof.
7. A process of preparing the cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, the process comprising the steps of:
(a) obtaining ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate;
(b) obtaining ethylhexyl salicylate;
(c) obtaining methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (and) aqua (and) decyl glucoside (and) propylene glycol (and) xanthan gum;
(d) obtaining at least one thickening agent;
(e) obtaining at least one silicone; and
(f) contacting ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, ethylhexyl salicylate, methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (and) aqua (and) decyl glucoside (and) propylene glycol (and) xanthan gum, the at least one thickening agent, the at least one silicone to obtain the cosmetic composition.
8. A process of preparing the cosmetic composition as claimed in any of the claims 1- 6, the process comprising the steps of:
(a) contacting water, and the chelating agent to obtain a first mixture;
(b) contacting the first mixture, and the at least one thickening agent to obtain a second mixture;
(c) contacting the at least one antioxidant, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, and ethylhexyl salicylate to obtain a third mixture;
(d) contacting the second mixture, and the third mixture to obtain a fourth mixture;
(e) contacting the fourth mixture, and the at least one humectant to obtain a fifth mixture;
(f) contacting methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (and) aqua (and) decyl glucoside (and) propylene glycol (and) xanthan gum, and water to obtain a sixth mixture;
(g) contacting the fifth mixture, and the sixth mixture to obtain a seventh mixture;
(h) contacting the at least one silicone, the at least one preservative, the at least one active, the at least one color, the at least one fragrance, and the at least one cooling agent to obtain an eighth mixture; and
(i) contacting the seventh mixture, and the eighth mixture to obtain the cosmetic composition.

The process of preparing the cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 8, wherein (a) contacting water and the chelating agent is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, at a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 15 minutes to obtain the first mixture; (b) contacting the first mixture, and the at least one thickening agent is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 30 minutes to obtain the second mixture; (c) contacting the at least one antioxidant, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, and ethylhexyl salicylate, is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 30 minutes to obtain the third mixture; (d) contacting the second mixture, and the third mixture is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 30 minutes to obtain the fourth mixture; (e) contacting the fourth mixture, and the at least one humectant is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 30 minutes to obtain the fifth mixture; (f) contacting methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (and) aqua (and) decyl glucoside (and) propylene glycol (and) xanthan gum, and water is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 30 minutes to obtain the sixth mixture; (g) contacting the fifth mixture, and the sixth mixture is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 30 minutes to obtain the seventh mixture; (h) contacting the at least one silicone, the at least one preservative, the at least one active, the at least one color, the at least one fragrance, and the at least one cooling agent is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 30 minutes to obtain the eighth mixture; (i) contacting the seventh mixture, and the eighth mixture is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 30 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 10-30 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 30 minutes.
10. A method of preventing sun damage and photo ageing, the method comprising the step of topically applying a safe and effective amount of the cosmetic composition as claimed in any of the claims 1 – 6 on the skin.
