Abstract: The instant disclosure provides a crack free soap formulation, and the method to prepare the same. The crack free soap is obtained by maintaining a particular range of weight ratio of a mixture of PEG(n) amodimethiocone and oil to filler(s).
Claims:1. A soap formulation comprising:
a. a mixture consisting of PEG (n) amodimethicone and at least one oil; and
b. at least one filler; and
c. soap noodles,
wherein said mixture to at least one filler w/w ratio in said formulation is in the range of 1:4 to 1:12, in PEG (n) amodimethicone, (n) is an integer ranging from 1 to 200, and at least one filler weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 4-10%.
2. The soap formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein (n) ranges from 1 to 20.
3. The soap formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein (n) ranges from 7-8.
4. The soap formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, wherein said at least oil is selected from the group consisting of mineral oil, vegetable oil, synthetic oil, essential oil, wax, and combinations thereof, said at least one oil weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.5-1.2%.
5. The soap formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, wherein said at least one filler is selected from the group consisting of talc, natural starch, corn starch, rice starch, bentonite, kaoline, fuller earth, tapioca starch, clay, modified starch, cellulose, modified/substituted cellulose and combinations thereof, said at least one filler weight concentration in said formulation in the range of 5 to 8%.
6. The soap formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, wherein said mixture to at least one filler w/w ratio in said formulation is in the range of 1:6 to 1:7.
7. The soap formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, wherein in said mixture, PEG (n) amodimethicone to at least one oil w/w ratio is in the range of 1:3.5 to 1:5.
8. The soap formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein said PEG (n) amodimethicone weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.01 to 0.2 %.
9. The sopa formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein saop soap noodle weight concentration is in the range of 75-85%.
10. The soap formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-9, further comprising:
(a) at least one free fatty acid selected from the group consisting of C8 -18 fatty acids, said fatty acid weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 2-5%;
(b) at least one anionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of alpha olefin sulphate, sodium lauryl ether sulphate, ammonium lauryl ether sulphate, alpha olefin sulfonate powder, and combinations thereof, said at least one anionic surfactant weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 2-8%;
(c) at least one additive selected from the group consisting of sodium silicate, silica, sea salt, sodium chloride, titanium dioxide, soda ash, butylated hydroxy toluene, polyethylene oxide, color and herbal extracts, and combinations thereof, said at least one additive weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.01-1.5%;
(d). at least one fragrance having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.001-2% ; and
(e) water to a final concentration of 100%.
11. The soap formulation as claimed in claim 10, said soap formulation comprising:
a. PEG-7 amodimethicone having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.01 to 0.2%;
b. mineral oil having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.5 to 1.2 %
c. soap noodle having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 75-85%;
d. talc having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 4-10%;
e. titanium dioxide having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.01-1.5%;
f. butylated hydroxy toulene having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.01-1.5%;
g. soda ash having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.01-1.5%;
h. fragrance having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0-2%;
i. lauric acid (C12 fatty acid) having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 2-5%;
j. alpha olefin sulphate powder having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 2-8%;
k. polyethylene oxide (PolyOx WSR301) having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.001 to 0.1%; and
l. water to a final concentration of 100%
12. The soap formulation as claimed in claim 11 comprising:
a. PEG-7 amodimethicone having weight concentration in said formulation is 0.15%;
b. mineral oil having weight concentration in said formulation is 0.65%;
c. soap noodle having weight concentration in said formulation is 83%;
d. talc having weight concentration in said formulation is 5.2%;
e. titanium dioxide having weight concentration in said formulation is 0.6%;
f. butylated hydroxy toulene having weight concentration in said formulation is 0.05%;
g. soda ash having weight concentration in said formulation is 0.8%;
h. fragrance having weight concentration in said formulation is 1.32%;
i. lauric acid (C12 fatty acid) having weight concentration in said formulation is 3.4%;
j. alpha olefin sulphate powder having weight concentration in said formulation is 4.45%;
k. Poly Ox WSR 301 having weight concentration in said formulation is 0.012%;and
l. water to a final concentration of 100%.
13. A method to prepare a soap formulation as claimed in any of the claim 1-12, said method comprising;
a. contacting soap noodles, a mixture of PEG (n) amodimethicone and at least one oil, at least one filler, and optionally comprising at least one fatty acid, at least one additive, l, at least one anionic surfactant, and at least one fragrance in a sequential manner and mixing for a time range of 5 to 20 min at a temperature in the range of 22 to 50°C to obtain a mass,
b. milling the mass for a time range of 15 to 40 min at a temperature in the range of 45 to 85°C to obtain thin flakes,
c. extruding the flakes to obtain soap billets, and
d. cutting the billets into a pre-determined size and stamping to obtain soap.
14. The method as claimed in claim 13, said method comprising:
a. contacting soap noodles, a mixture of PEG 7 amodimethicone and mineral oil, talc, lauric acid, titanium oxide, butylated hydroxy toluene, water, AOS powder, soda ash, polyOx WSR 301, and at least one fragrance in a sequential manner and mixing for a time range of 5 to 20 min at a temperature in the range of 22 to 50°C to obtain a mass,
b. milling the mass for a time range of 15 to 40 min at a temperature in the range of 45 to 85°C to obtain thin flakes,
c. extruding the flakes to obtain soap billets, and
d. cutting the billets into a pre-determined size and stamping to obtain soap.
