Abstract: The present invention relates to a design and development of retractable hanging seat (1). The retractable hanging seat (1) efficiently solves the issue of space/land (sitting) organizing and optimization, supplementary seats for public institution use with retractable hanging support along with existing seating arrangement of the public transport vehicle or trams or restaurants. The supplementary seat for public use made with flexible material which is attached with the support bar (11) through a pulley (3) such that it hangs down from it. Fig. 2

We Claim:
1. A design and development of retractable hanging seat (1) comprises:
a) a seat (2) for providing seating arrangement;
b) a pulley (3) for vertical rotation of the seat (2);
c) a gear mechanism (4) for providing the movement to said pulley (3);
d) a case (5) for enclosing said embodiments into it;
e) a support bar (11) on which the supplementary seat (1) to be hang;
wherein, the seat (2) for additional sitting facility to the passengers of the public transport is retractable operated by the driver having made of flexible polymeric material having good elastic strength and contracting property with crisscross knitted structure which allowing the system to contract and expand when desired.

The design and development of retractable hanging seat (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the flexible polymeric material can be selected from hemp, shellac, amber, wool, silk, natural rubber, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, synthetic rubber, phenol formaldehyde resin (or Bakelite), neoprene, nylon, polyacrylonitrile, PVB, silicone.

3. The design and development of retractable hanging seat (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the retractable hanging seat (1) is mechanically connected with the gear mechanism (4) and pulley (3) and can be controlled by the driver.

4. The design and development of retractable hanging seat (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the retractable hanging seat (1) is hanged on the support bar (11) of the public transport system such that the support bar (11) passing from the middle of said case (5).

5. The design and development of retractable hanging seat (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the retractable hanging seat(1) is hanged on the support bar (11) contracted while not in operable condition.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a design and development of retractable hanging seat. More particularly relates with the retractable supplementary hanging seat for public transport with flexible support.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In thickly populated countries like India, public transportation is one of the most sought after mode of transport. In Indian scenario where over 60% people belong to economic section, public transport is widely used method of commutation. Public transportation is not only cheap, but also convenient as it is quickest way to commute locally. Students cannot afford to use private vehicles and for elderly it is inconvenient to drive. Working class also does not prefer to use their personal vehicles due to parking hassles. Not only this, it is quite stressful to drive for long distances and it consumes lot of time as well. Hence, most of the office goers prefer to use public transport.Hence the buses and metro trains running during peak hours are mostly congested. Some routes are always busy throughout the day. There are some routes that see unusually heavy traffic at any time of the day.

And thus due to all these reasons, public buses and trains are always crowded and hence lot of people is seen standing in the walkway. And thus it becomes very inconvenient for most of the people to stand for a longer period of time. It causes fatigue and stress to stand longer.

In such a situation there is major need to provide supplementary seating arrangement in available free space.
Buses are the predominant mode of motorized public transport in India. All bus systems combined carry much more passengers than any other mass transport systems. A functional bus system is an essential element of both intercity and local public transport system. Bus stops, bus terminals and depots are the critical infrastructure components of a bus-based transport system. Bus terminals are the nodal points at the beginning and end of journey. Brief development is a critical starting point for the planning and design exercise of a bus seat design project. The brief development provides an outline of the project’s objectives and their corresponding design strategies, thus yielding the design solutions. The brief development stage assists the planners/designers to list all functional and operational requirements, and any associated spatial and material ones.
Various prior art discloses about the retractable seat. The prior art document EP3233565B1 discloses retractable seat including at least one hinged arm including a first perpendicular pin at the first end thereof and a second pin parallel to the first pin at the second end thereof, the first pin being intended for allowing the tilting of a seating portion relative to the arm and the second pin being intended for allowing the hinged arm to pivot relative to a frame, the retractable seat including at least one movement transmission means for tilting the seating portion between a horizontal position and a vertical position by the pivoting of the arm, the amplitude of said pivoting action of the arm being limited by a limiting means.

Another prior art document US8419129B2 discloses a child car seat capable of preventing a seat body from being unintentionally moved to a turning position. The child car seat includes a pedestal and a seat body that can be slid with respect to the pedestal. A plurality of reclining positions and a turning position are included in a range within which the seat body can be slid. The seat body includes a retractable projecting member projecting toward the pedestal, and an operation member connected to the projecting member. The seat body can be held in the respective positions when the projecting member is engaged with the pedestal. An operation amount of the operation member, which is required for sliding the seat body between the reclining positions, is smaller than an operation amount of the operation member, which is required for sliding the seat body from the reclining position to the turning position.

Another prior art document US7997654 disclosed a recliner seat assembly for a passenger vehicle. The recliner seat assembly includes a fixed supporting portion for supporting the assembly off a floor of the vehicle, a reclinable seat portion having a seat-pan and a back-rest, and a seat connecting device adapted for connecting the seat portion to the supporting portion. The connecting device includes a seat reclining mechanism adapted for allowing and controlling translational movement of the seat portion relative to the supporting portion between a first upright position and a second fully reclined position. The connecting device further includes a selectively operable, bi-directional motor adapted for driving the seat portion between the first and second positions. The seat reclining mechanism includes a guiding device for reclining the back-rest progressively rearwardly relative to the supporting portion as the seat portion is moved from the first upright position to the second fully reclined position.

Another prior art document WO2016188535 discloseda portable chair with an extended supporting state, where the chair can support a normal person in a standing position by telescopically arranged support elements, and a non-extended, compact state. Two seating elements forms both a seating bar in the extended, supporting state of the chair, and a cover for the supporting elements in a non-extended, compact state of the chair. The portable chair is mechanically locked in the extended state by relative turning a first and a second adjacent support element in a transverse direction of the portable chair. Thereby a simple and compact portable chair is provided, which can be manufactured in a cost- effective way, in particular using injection molding. Moreover, the chair is very user friendly because the chair is quickly transformed from the compact to the extended state and locked in this state.

The aforementioned prior arts encounter various problems which lead into the difficulties in many ways. Some of the invention disclose about the retractable seats for the different purposes. But it has also some disadvantages like existing seats fail to serve as additional seats within available space in the public transport due to its dimensions and four legs that require large space when placed and obstruct the walkway within the public transport blocking passengers to move in and out of it. But also in the conventional retractable seats encounters many problems due to its complex structure, telescopic link structure, connector, spring etc.Hence, it is desperately needed to introduce design and development of retractable hanging seat.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The principle object of the present invention is to provide a design and development of retractable hanging seat.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a design and development of retractable hanging seat which is made from flexible material only.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a design and development of retractable hanging seat which mount and operated by the pulley only and hence, complexity reduced.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a design and development of retractable hanging seat which provide extra space to seat in the public transport.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a design and development of retractable hanging seat which eliminates the use of the telescopic link structure.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a design and development of retractable hanging seat which is comfortable and convenient to use which ultimately increases the ease of travel through public transportation.

The present invention is all about a design and development of retractable hanging seat.

The main aspect of the present invention is to provide the retractable hanging seat made with the flexible material which can be contracted while not in the use.

Another aspect of the present invention is to provide a design and development of retractable hanging seat which comprises a seat for providing seating arrangement; a pulley for vertical rotation of the seat; a support bar on which the supplementary seat to be hang; wherein, the seat for additional sitting facility to the passengers of the public transport is retractable operated by the driver having made of flexible material with crisscross knitted structure which allowing the system to contract and expand when desired.

One more aspect of the present invention is to provide the design and development of retractable hanging seat in which the retractable hanging seat is mechanically connected with the gear mechanism and pulley and can be controlled by the driver.

One another aspect of the present invention is to provide the design and development of retractable hanging seat in which the retractable hanging seat is hanged on the support bar of the public transport system.

One another aspect of the present invention is to solve the issue of sitting organizing and optimization, supplementary seats for public institution use with retractable hanging support along with existing seating arrangement of the public transport vehicle or trams or restaurants.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

The present invention overcomes the aforesaid drawbacks of the above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will now be described in greater detail. Also, the following description includes various specific details and is to be regarded as merely exemplary. Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that: without departing from the scope and spirit of the present disclosure and its various embodiments there may be any number of changes and modifications described herein.

It must also be noted that as used herein and in the appended claims, the singular forms "a", "an," and "the" include plural references unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Although any systems and methods similar or equivalent to those described herein can be used in the practice or testing of embodiments of the present invention, the preferred, systems and methods are now described.

According to one embodiment, the present invention discloses a design and development of retractable hanging seat.

The present invention is all about the retractable hanging seat made with the flexible material which can be contracted while not in the use.

The main embodiment of the present invention, a design and development of retractable hanging seat (1) comprises, a seat (2) for providing seating arrangement; a pulley (3) for vertical rotation of the seat (2); a gear mechanism (4) for providing the movement to said pulley (3); a case (5) for enclosing said embodiments into it; a support bar (11) on which the supplementary seat (1) to be hang; wherein, the seat (2) for additional sitting facility to the passengers of the public transport is retractable operated by the driver having made of flexible material having good elastic strength and contracting property with crisscross knitted structure which allowing the system to contract and expand when desired.

As per one embodiment of the present invention is to provide the retractable hanging seat (1) for public use with flexible seat (2) is positioned above such that it does not obstruct the other consumer while moving in the public area such as transportation or restaurants.

As per another embodiment of the present invention the gearing mechanism (4) assures that the seat (2) is fixed at desired length and so forth to create the acquired shape of the flexible seat expanded for comfortable seating experience.

As per another embodiment of the present invention the retractable hanging seat (1) is mechanically connected with the gear mechanism (4) and pulley (3) and can be controlled by the driver. The retractable hanging seat (1) is the contracting seat which uses as supplementary seat in the existing public vehicles, public restaurants, public gardens, waiting lounges etc. and it optimizes the space available without causing any discomfort or inconvenience to the user already seated and organize the haywire crowed.

As per another embodiment of the present invention is the retractable hanging seat (1) made of flexible material which have an in made property of contraction are very beneficial for use as it gives proper strength, needs less supporting structure, and are better to handle than telescopic link mechanism. Also the seat (1) uses the meshed structure it is washable hence hygiene friendly.

As per another embodiment of the present invention the flexible polymeric material can be selected from hemp, shellac, amber, wool, silk, natural rubber, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, synthetic rubber, phenol formaldehyde resin (or Bakelite), neoprene, nylon, polyacrylonitrile, PVB, silicone.

As per another embodiment of the present invention the retractable hanging seat (1) operable through the gearing mechanism (4) which mechanically connected to the pulley (3) and operate the seat (2) in the vertical direction.

As per another embodiment of the present invention the retractable hanging seat (1) is hanged on the support bar (11) of the public transport system such that the support bar (11).

As per another embodiment of the present invention the retractable hanging seat (1) is hanged on the support bar (11) contracted while not in operable condition.

As per another embodiment of the present invention the retractable hanging seat (1) when not in use contracted towards the upward direction. After the permanent seating position full with passenger the driver through the gear mechanism can retract the supplementary seat (1) for the additional seating purpose. The whole mechanism works on the pulley (3).

The retractable hanging seat (1) of the present invention is operable as shown in Fig.1. As shown in Fig. 1 the pulley (3) mechanically connected with the gear mechanism (4). The gear mechanism (4) provides the drive to the pulley (3) with the help of gear slots. The pulley (3) provide vertical movement to the seat (2) and so the seat retracting to operable condition for the purpose of additional seating facility.

Working of the Invention

A retractable hanging seat (1) for public transport with retractable hanging support is attached to provide an additional sitting arrangement in the available space in any public transport system like a bus or train. The supplementary seat (2) for public transport is attached with the support bar (11) such that it hangs down from the support bar (11). Referring to Fig. 2 shows the supplementary seat for public transport with retractable hanging support in a retracted view. For a user boarding the vehicle, requiring a place to sit accesses the supplementary seat for public transport with retractable hanging support, the driver can actuate the gear mechanism (4) and the seat (2) retract down in the operable situation. Referring to Fig. 2 shows supplementary seat for public transport in the expanded condition. Now, if the seat is not required driver can pull the seat (2) back to inoperable situation. The supplementary seat for public transport in contracted condition is positioned above such that it does not obstruct the passengers while moving in the public transport vehicle. This supplementary seating arrangement is applicable in various situations. It is applicable in existing public vehicles as additional seats in which it utilizes the free space available without causing any discomfort or inconvenience to the passengers already seated.
