A Development Of An Intelligent Mobile Application Intergrated Smart Energy Meters Through Iot

Abstract: Existing website, mobile application developed by distribution companies having no options of displaying daily electrical energy consumption details. Apart, monthly electricity bill is calculated wrongly and the billing amount rises much which is highly irritable to the consumers. This issue has been sort out through the mobile application invented here. This mobile application integrated with the smart energy meters installed at the consumers end and hence the various parameters measured by the smart meters such as current, voltage, power, energy, power factor, maximum demand are transferred to the mobile application instantaneously through Internet of Things (IoT) Therefore, the consumers can read/know the electricity consumption and bill hourly or daily basis. Apart, this application gives the provision of setting the maximum limit of electricity consumption reached, and then the application will alert the consumers so as the usage can be minimized by consumers. This ensures the possible energy savings in the utility side. Since the application gives the hourly data to the consumers, the electricity bill and other data are transparent to them and it is drastically preventing the conflict between consumers and power distribution companies. Therefore, power distribution companies can satisfy their consumers by promoting energy savings, providing transparency and preventing the conflict through this mobile application.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The field of this invention relates to electronics and more particularly in the Development of an Intelligent Mobile Application Integrated with Smart Energy Meter through IOT for domestic and industrial applications.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to the Development of an Intelligent Mobile Application Integrated with Smart Energy Meter through IOT.
India is the third largest country in the world interns of its electricity consumption. The average electrical energy per capita is 1181 units/person/year and its average power per capita is about 140 W/person. There are many power distribution companies both government and private sectors are involved in distributing the power to the consumers. Few decades before personnel from power distribution companies have been measured the electricity consumption manually by visiting the consumer’s site and the billing has been made. In this method, manual errors are unavoidable. Also it allows some illegal billing which favors to some consumers. Nowadays, existing energy meters are replaced with smart electrical energy meters and the electricity units consumption is measured through the specific device once in a month or bimonthly. The error free unit consumption has been recorded in this method. However the electricity consumption and billing amount has been recorded and published only once in a month or bimonthly. If the consumers more electricity during certain days in a month, the same is known at the time of billing. Hence, there is a possibility of conflict occurs between consumers and power distribution companies and also no energy saving potential opportunity in this method. Even though the smart energy meters are installed, it is not utilized adequately since the absence of integrating smart meters with IOT.

PRIOR ART STATEMENT OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
1. To integrate mobile application with the smart energy meters through Internet of Things (IoT) to obtain hourly/daily data.
2. To provide the possibilities of energy saving options by alerting the consumers through maximum value setting.
3. To make the system as user friendly system by providing transparent data to the consumers.
4. To avoid conflict between consumers and power distribution companies
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The problem mentioned in the back ground can be solved by Developing of an Intelligent Mobile Application Integrated with Smart Energy Meter through IOT.
The aim of the invention is to develop an intelligent mobile application suitable to electricity consumers for promoting energy savings, providing transparency and preventing the conflict between consumers and power distribution organization. This mobile application is integrated with the smart energy meters installed at the consumers end and through which parameters such as current, voltage, power, energy, power factor and maximum demand are measured and the measured data are transmitted to the cloud through Internet of Things (IoT). Data stored in the cloud is accessed by the mobile in which the application is used. The measurement and transmission are happened at least once in an hour. This provision of instantaneous recording and communicating data offers the possibility to the consumers to aware the electricity consumption and the billing amount. Apart, using this application one can set the maximum limit of electricity consumption according their wish. This application includes the provision of alerting the consumers if the fixed maximum limit of electricity consumption is reached. This exclusive feature helps in minimizing the electricity consumption by consumers and planning accordingly. This ensures the possible energy savings in the utility side. This application ensures the transparency of electricity bill and other data and it is drastically preventing the conflict between consumers and power distribution companies. Therefore customer satisfaction can be greatly achieved through this intelligent mobile application.
