Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a device (100) for assembly of a bead lock (30) on a tyre (10). The device (100) comprises a pressing ring (120), a press tool (110), a bottom plate (122), a hydraulic jack (126), and a top plate (124). The pressing ring (120) is configured to be engaged with the tyre (10). The bottom plate (122) is configured to be locked under the wheel rim (20 by a plurality of studs (140). The top plate (124) is configured to be mounted on the hydraulic jack (126) and locked with the plurality of studs (140) by a plurality of locking pins (130). During operation, the hydraulic jack (126) is operated to generate pressure on the tyre (10) and thereby creating a gap between the tyre (10) and the wheel rim (20) to insert a lock ring (40) in the gap.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS AND PRIORITY
[001] This patent application claims priority from Indian Provisional Application 202041003795 filed on January 28, 2020.

TECHNICAL FIELD
[002] The present subject matter described herein, in general, relates to a pressing device and more specifically relates to a device for assembly of a bead lock on a tyre.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[003] The Bead locks are used in Truck Wheels to prevent complete deflation of a tyre and also to minimize damages to the tyre due to complete deflation of the tyre during running. The assembly of Tyre, bead lock and wheel rim is a cumbersome process. For locking the wheel rim, tyre along with the bead lock needs to be pressed inside the rim which requires an approximate load of 10 Tons. This load can be achieved only through a hydraulic force.
[004] The present subject matter discloses a system to overcome the above mentioned shortcomings of the available system.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[005] Main object of the present invention is to reduce human effort to install bead lock and a lock ring in the wheel assembly.
[006] Another object of the present invention is to reduce time required to install bead lock and a lock ring in the wheel assembly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[007] Before the present system is described, it is to be understood that this application is not limited to the particular machine or an apparatus, and methodologies described, as there can be multiple possible embodiments that are not expressly illustrated in the present disclosures. It is also to be understood that the terminology used in the description is for the purpose of describing the particular versions or embodiments only, and is not intended to limit the scope of the present application. This summary is provided to introduce aspects related to a device and a method for assembly of a bead lock on a tyre, and the aspects are further elaborated below in the detailed description. This summary is not intended to identify essential features of the proposed subject matter nor is it intended for use in determining or limiting the scope of the proposed subject matter.
[008] The present subject matter discloses a device for assembly of a bead lock on a tyre. The device comprises a pressing ring, a press tool, a bottom plate, a hydraulic jack and a top plate. The pressing ring is configured to be engaged with the tyre which is required to be pressed. The press tool comprises a base and a plurality of legs wherein the plurality of legs are configured to be mounted on the pressing ring. The bottom plate is configured to be mounted under the wheel rim and locked by a plurality of studs. The hydraulic jack is configured to be mounted on the base of the press tool. The top plate is adapted to be resting on the hydraulic jack and is configured to be slidably mounted on the plurality of studs locked. Further a plurality of locking pins are provided to be engaged with the plurality of studs to restrict upward motion of the top plate.
[009] In another embodiment, a method for assembly of bead lock on a tyre by the device is disclosed. The method comprises steps of: locking the bottom plate under the wheel rim by the plurality of studs; engaging the pressing ring on the tyre; mounting the press tool on the pressing ring; mounting the hydraulic jack on the base of the press tool; mounting, slidably, the top plate on the plurality of studs wherein the top plate rests on the hydraulic jack; locking upward motion of the top plate by engaging a plurality of locking pins with the plurality of studs; operating the hydraulic jack to generate pressure on the tyre and thereby creating a gap between the tyre and the wheel rim; and inserting the lock ring in the gap.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0018] Referring to figure 1 and figure 2, in one aspect of the present invention, a device 100 for assembly of a bead lock 30 on a tyre 10 is disclosed. The device 100 comprises a press tool 110, a pressing ring 120, a bottom plate 122, a top plate 124, a hydraulic jack 126, plurality of lock pins 130 and a plurality of studs 140. The device 100 is configured to press the tyre 10 to create gap between the tyre 10 and the wheel rim 20 to position a lock ring 40 in the gap. During assembly, the bead lock 30 is inserted in the tyre 10 and the tyre 10 with bead lock 30 is assembled on the wheel rim 20. Further the wheel rim 20 is positioned on a flat surface. The pressing ring 120 is configured to be engaged with the tyre 10 where the tyre 10 needs to be pressed. The bottom plate 122 is mounted under the wheel rim 20 and locked by the plurality of studs 140. The press tool 110 comprises a base 112 and a plurality of legs 114 wherein the plurality of legs 114 are configured to be mounted on the pressing ring 120. In an embodiment, the pressing ring 120 may be integrated with the press tool 110 through the plurality of legs 114. The hydraulic jack 126 is mounted on the base 112 of the press tool 110. Further the top plate 124 is adapted to be resting on the hydraulic jack 126 and is configured to be slidably mounted on the plurality of studs 140. Further a plurality of locking pins 130 are provided to be engaged with the plurality of studs 140 to restrict upward motion of the top plate 124.
[0019] The wheel rim comprises a plurality of holes to receive the plurality of studs 140 for locking of the bottom plate 122.
[0020] The device 100 may be configured to be stored in the vehicle tool box for easy retrieval and storage. Further the hydraulic jack 126 of the device 100 may be used for lifting of the vehicle for maintenance or breakdown purposes such as changing the tyre 10.
[0021] During assembly operation, the hydraulic jack 126 is operated to generate pressure on the tyre 10 and thereby creating a gap between the tyre 10 and the wheel rim 20 to insert the lock ring 40 in the gap. Hence the whole assembly of the tyre 10, the bead lock 30 and the wheel rim 20 is locked by the lock ring 40 with the help of the device 100.
[0022] In another embodiment, a method for assembly of bead lock on a tyre by the device 100 is disclosed. The method comprises steps of: locking the bottom plate 122 under the wheel rim 20 by the plurality of studs 140; engaging the pressing ring 120 on the tyre 10; mounting the press tool 110 on the pressing ring 120; mounting the hydraulic jack 126 on the base 112 of the press tool 110; mounting, slidably, the top plate 124 on the plurality of studs 140 wherein the top plate 124 rests on the hydraulic jack 126; locking upward motion of the top plate 124 by engaging a plurality of locking pins 130 with the plurality of studs 140; operating the hydraulic jack 126 to generate pressure on the tyre 10 and thereby creating a gap between the tyre 10 and the wheel rim 20; and inserting the lock ring 40 in the gap.
[0023] Therefore the installation of the lock ring 40 can be performed easily with the device 100 with reduced human effort to press the wheel assembly.
[0024] Exemplary embodiments discussed above may provide certain advantages. Though not required to practice aspects of the disclosure, these advantages may include those provided by the following features.
[0025] Some object of the present invention enables to reduce human effort to install a lock ring in the wheel assembly.
[0026] Some object of the present invention enables to reduce time required to install a lock ring in the wheel assembly.
[0027] Although implementations for the device 100 for assembly of a bead lock on a tyre have been described in language specific to structural features and/or methods, it is to be understood that the appended claims are not necessarily limited to the specific features described. Rather, the specific features are disclosed as examples of implementation for the device 100.
,CLAIMS:
1. A device (100) for assembly of a bead lock (30) on a tyre (10), wherein the device (100) comprises:
a pressing ring (120) configured to be engaged with the tyre (10);
a press tool (110) comprising a base (112) and a plurality of legs (114), wherein the plurality of legs (114) are configured to be mounted on the pressing ring (120);
a bottom plate (122) configured to be locked under the wheel rim (20) by a plurality of studs (140);
a hydraulic jack (126) configured to be mounted on the base (112) of the press tool (110); and
a top plate (124) adapted to be resting on the hydraulic jack (126) and configured to be slidably mounted on the plurality of studs (140); wherein a plurality of locking pins (130) are provided to be engaged with the plurality of studs (140) to restrict upward motion of the top plate (124).
2. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pressing ring (120) is configured be integrated with the press tool (110) through the plurality of legs (114).
3. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the wheel rim comprises a plurality of holes to receive the plurality of studs (140) for locking of the bottom plate (122).
4. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hydraulic jack (126) is optionally configured for lifting of the vehicle for maintenance or breakdown purposes such as changing the tyre (10).
5. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device (100) is configured to be stored in the vehicle tool box.
6. A method for assembly of bead lock on a tyre by the device (100) as claimed in claims 1-5, wherein the method comprises steps of:
locking the bottom plate (122) under the wheel rim (20) by the plurality of studs (140);
engaging the pressing ring (120) on the tyre (10);
mounting the press tool (110) on the pressing ring (120);
mounting the hydraulic jack (126) on the base (112) of the press tool (110);
mounting, slidably, the top plate (124) on the plurality of studs (140) wherein the top plate (124) rests on the hydraulic jack (126);
locking upward motion of the top plate (124) by engaging a plurality of locking pins (130) with the plurality of studs (140);
operating the hydraulic jack (126) to generate pressure on the tyre (10) and thereby creating a gap between the tyre (10) and the wheel rim (20); and
inserting a lock ring (40) in the gap.
