Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method to create cut groove of specific size and depth at the periphery to easily and effectively insert a water proofing layer (O-ring) in the watch dial which is effective even under high pressure of water.
FIELD OF INVENTION:
[001] The present invention relates to the field of watch dial. The present invention in particular relates to a device to create cut groove at the periphery and its method thereof.
DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART:
[002] Now rings of the aforementioned broad classification can be either applied to the dial of a small watch and provided with decorative markings serving purely for ornamentation, or additionally or exclusively can possess hour symbols or figures or other type of indicating or functional markings. Furthermore, such rings can be constructed as bezels for a watch casing which are mounted to be rotatable or stationary upon the case and carry decorative and/or indicating markings. Such rotatable bezels are particularly commonplace in diver's watches and chronographs.

[005] Patent No US3724202 relates to a ring member possessing decorative or functional markings for an article, especially for use in a watch, wherein there is provided a metallic ring member body equipped with at least one substantially ring-shaped groove at its base portion which is not exposed to the observer of the article. At least one electrically non-conductive material is deposited in such groove, and the surface of the ring member is provided at predetermined locations with openings for exposing at least given portions of the electrically non-conductive material.
[006] Publication No JPH0675061 relates to a surface pattern is formed on a dial base by machining, a plating is applied if necessary, a paint is applied thereon to form a nonconductivc coating layer, and by a WD method Letters such as letters, abbreviations, and marks are made to protrude. Only protruding letters, abbreviations, marks, etc. are cut and removed with a diamond tool or the like to expose the underlying metal layer. Further, a part of the exposed portion of the conductive underlying metal layer is further cut with a diamond tool or the like to form a groove portion. [008] Patent No JP2013050332 relates to a dial structure capable of improving the appearance of the periphery of a disc-shaped indicating member with a simple structure, and a wrist. A dial structure includes a disc-shaped indicating member 8 provided between an upper dial 10 and a lower dial 7. A part of the disc-shaped indicating member 8 is exposed from a notch 11 formed on the upper dial 10, and
indicates one of a plurality of function display parts 43a-43c (SPL, STP, and RUN) which are formed on the notch 1 1 and at outer places than the disc-shaped indicating member 8.
[009] Publication No JPS57182189 relates to a method of manufacturing a dial for use in a wristwatch or the like and an apparatus therefor. In order to secure members such as time display letters, plates, names, corporate name marks, quality indications etc. on the face of the clock face dial, the adhesion strength or 2 - EndPage: 1 is gradually increased from the beautiful appearance There are restrictions, and while satisfying these, it is necessary to manufacture while keeping the original form of the base substrate. [010] Thus to make the watch waterproof, a grove is needed to insert a water proofing layer (O-ring) in the watch dial which is effective even under high pressure of water.
[Oil] In order to overcome above listed prior art, the present invention aims to provide a system and method to create cut groove of specific size and depth at the periphery to easily and effectively insert a water proofing layer (O-ring) in the watch dial.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
[012] The principal object of the present invention is to provide a system and method to create cut groove at the periphery.
[013] Another object of the present invention is to provide to create cut groove of specific size and depth at the periphery to easily and effectively insert a water proofing layer (O-ring) in the watch dial which is effective even under high pressure of water.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[015| The present invention relates to a system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the watch dial. This feature is created with the help of CNC lathe machine and one specialised fixture. Fixture is designed according to the dial outer diameter. With the help of single point cutting tool groove is created at the outer periphery of the dial. Specialized fixture is designed to hold the dial according to the dial outer diameter dimensions, explained below. Carbide tool is also design according to the groove size required in the dial.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
[019] The invention provides a system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the watch dial. This feature is created with the help of CNC lathe machine and one specialised fixture. Fixture is designed according to the dial outer diameter. With the help of single point cutting tool groove is created at the outer periphery of the dial. Specialized fixture is designed to hold the dial according to the dial outer diameter dimensions, explained below. Carbide tool is also design according to the groove size required in the dial.
[020] Carbide Bit (Figure 1) is single point cutting tool is used to create the groove in the dial. Carbide tool is designed as per the requirement of the groove size in the dial. The collet Fixture (Figure 2) is used to hold the dial from the outer periphery of the dial. Fixture is designed in such a way so that dial can be clamp or unclamp easily from the outer periphery of the dial. One round recess bigger than dial outer diameter in the fixture is done and slots are cut in the fixture (figure 2). Slots are cut in such a way so that it can be tighten from the outer periphery of the fixture and slots size will be reduced. For tightening it from the outer periphery, one clamping ring (Figure 2) is used and placed at the outer periphery and in ring there is a provision for tightening the fixture with the help of screw and ultimately it will clamp the dial from the outer periphery.
[021] Dial is placed at the centre of the fixture and with the help of Allen key clamping ring is tightened and dial get hold in the fixture.
[022] Placing all the parts in its place, with the help of CNC lathe and X,Y,Z coordinates groove is done in the dial as per the requirement. In this particular operation dial and fixture will rotate and Tool will move in linear direction.
[023] There would be one collet with clamping Ring. In the collet, in single step up, first the machines as per dial blank outer diameter with control depth. In collet there are slots on angular position which help to tighten the dial blanks with help of Clamping Ring. The dial is kept in a way that the center of dial concides with the center of Collet. When the dial blank is fixed on collet we maintain the depth as to provide free space to cutting tool bit to grove of specific dimension on the periphery of the watch dial blank. Carbide tool bit which moves horizontally to cut the grove of specific dimension with the help of CNC lathe machine
[024] Numerous modifications and adaptations of the system of the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art, and thus it is intended
by the appended claims to cover all such modifications and adaptations which fall within the true spirit and scope of this invention.
WE CLAIM:
1. A system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the dial comprises a fixture to hold the dial and carbide cutting tool bit to cut the grove on the dial characterized in that carbide Bit a single point cutting tool is used to create the groove in the dial, the collet Fixture to hold the dial from the outer periphery of the dial so that dial can be clamp or unclamp easily from the outer periphery of the dial, one round recess bigger than dial outer diameter in the fixture is done and slots are cut in the fixture wherein the slots are cut in such a way so that it can be tighten from the outer periphery of the fixture and slots size will be reduced, clamping ring placed at the outer periphery is used for tightening it and in ring there is a provision for tightening the fixture with the help of screw and ultimately it will clamp the dial from the outer periphery.
2. The system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the dial, as
claimed in claim I, wherein the cutting tool with a holder which moves in
vertical position as well as horizontal movement and the holder has a cutter of
variable dimension which can be moved horizontally to cut the grove of
specific dimension on the periphery of the watch dial wherein the dial is fixed
on the fixture which is on rotating movement,
3. The system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the dial, as
claimed in claim 1, wherein the fixture holds the dial at the centre and with the
help of Allen key clamping ring is tightened and dial get hold in the fixture.
4. The system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the dial, as
claimed in claim 1, wherein the fixture is in circular shape of variable
diameter with multiple slots and the dial is kept in a way that the center of dial
coincides with the center of fixture.
5. The system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the dial, as claimed \n claim 1, wherein the fixture is free to rotate from 0 to 360 degree at a fixed position.
6. The system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the dial, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the size of cutter is taken as per the requirement of the grove
7. The system and method to create cut groove at the periphery of the dial, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the specific groove size and depth of cut is maintained as per required specifications.
