“A Device And Method For Clamping And Machining Stacked Finger Bars Of Large Size Turbogenerators”

Abstract: The invention relates to a device (F) and method for clamping and machining stacked finger bars of large size turbogenerators. The device (F) consists of a base plate (10), a threaded means (50), a reference block (31), a clamping unit (20). The base plate is secured in the T-slot of the machine by threaded means. The reference block is fixed shrink- fittedly in the slot (32) of the base plate (10). The reference block provides ready reference to the height of finger bars to be stucked for machining. The stacked finger bars are clamped by the clamping unit (20) with the help of a nut (22) tightening the stacked bars with the support of threaded mean. The stacked finger bars are then machined.
