Abstract: According to the invention, there is provided an apparatus for sector plate movement of cold end center section comprising a sector plate (1), an adjustor sleeve (3), a sector plate movement bracket (9), an adjustor rod (5), a top adjustor plate (6), a bottom adjustor plate (11), a plurality of bolt (10), with a plurality of locking nuts (7), wherein the sector plate (1) is linked with top plate (2) of center section covering with axial seal, the adjustor rod (5) is covered with adjustor sleeve (3) which is welded with top plate (2), the top adjustor plate (6) is linked with adjustor sleeve (3) and the bottom sleeve (11) is linked with the top adjustor plate (6) by means of bolts (10) and locking nuts (7).  Fig.5

Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to Cold End Center Section of Airpreheater and particularly relates to a device and method for easy movement of sector plate at Cold End Center Section of Airpreheater by using pneumatic gun in place of spanners.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In coal based thermal power plants, mechanical power is produced by combustion of coal. The boiler system burns the coal, and the thermal energy generated is used for generating steam from water. The mechanical energy of steam is then converted to the rotational energy of the turbine which in turn rotates the generator for generating electricity.
Airpreheater is an important auxiliary equipment in the modern utility, industrial and process boilers. It is a heat exchanger that recovers the heat energy from the hot flue gas, which otherwise would have gone unutilized and transfer the same to the incoming air for further utilization in the boilers / process.
For completion of Cold End Center Section fabrication activities, the sector plate movement is an important necessity. To do sector plate movement, heavy spanner is used to adjust the bolt to move sector plate up and down. In the existing practice, it takes more time for sector plate movement besides lot of human effort. To overcome the above problems a new method is developed by using a new type of sector plate movement bracket. In this method, usage of spanner is eliminated and also, the sector plate movement time is reduced.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
♦ An object of the present invention is to develop a device and method
for easy movement of sector plate for cold end center section of
airpreheater that reduces the cycle time of the sector plate
movement.
•> Another object of the invention is to develop a device and method for easy movement of sector plate for cold end center section of airpreheater that reduces the manpower required for doing the sector plate movement activity.
♦ A still another object of the invention is to develop a device and method for easy movement of sector plate for cold end center section of airpreheater that eliminates the usage of heavy spanner for sector plate movement activity.
♦ A further object of the invention is to develop a device and method for easy movement of sector plate for cold end center section of airpreheater that enhances the safety of the operator for performing this operation.
♦ A still further object of the invention is to develop a device and method for easy movement of sector plate for cold end center section of airpreheater that reduces the human fatigue.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a novel device and method that reduces the cycle time of the sector plate movement for cold end center section used in airpreheater required for thermal power plant. The sector plate movement bracket (9) has been introduced and the same was made accordingly to accommodate in the adjuster sleeve (3) of cold end center section.

According to the invention, there is provided an apparatus for sector plate movement of cold end center section comprising of a sector plate (1), a adjustor sleeve (3), a sector plate movement bracket (9), an adjustor rod (5), a top Adjustor Plate (6), a bottom Adjustor Plate (11), a plurality of bolt (10, a plurality of Locking nuts (7), wherein the sector plate (1) is linked with top plate (2) of center section covered with axial seal, the adjustor rod (5) is covered with adjustor sleeve (3) and welded with top plate (2), the top adjustor plate (6) is linked with adjustor sleeve (3), and the bottom sleeve (11) is linked with the top adjustor plate (6) by means of bolt (10) and locking nut (7).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE
INVENTION
The airpreheater is divided in to flue gas side and and one or more combustion
air side. Flexible raduial seals on the rotor ,usally mounted on the top and
bottom edges of the diaphragms, are in close proximity to these secrtor
plate and minimize leakage of gas and air between sectors


The sector plate is adjusted to maintain the gap between the radial seals mounted on the diaphragms and the sector plates during operation. In one such scheme, a sector plate drive moves the outer end portions of the sector plates as the temperature increases so as to maintain the sector plates engaged with or in close proximity to the radial seals. Since the outer ends of the sector plates must be free to move, a bypass leakage path is created around the ends of the sector plates. Such bypass leakage paths are also present in airpreheaters having sector plates, which require adjustment over the lifetime of the airpreheater. But in the shop floor, for manufacture of cold end center section, the sector plate movement is necessary.
The sector plate assembly is fit up with the top plate (2, of cold end center section. The sector plate assembly consist of sector plate (1), adjustor rod (5) and adjustor rod nut (4). The sector plate (1) is covered with axial seal and fit up with the top plate (2) of cold end center section. Then sector plate (1) with adjustor rod (5, and adjustor rod nut (4) is covered with the adjustor sleeve (3, which is welded with the top plate (2, as shown in fig 2 for carryingout the load of sector plate.The adjustor sleeve (3, consists of top adjustor plate (6, and bottom adjustor plate (11, with plurality of bolts (10) and nuts (7). The adjustor rod (5, will be placed verdcallypassing through the center of the top (6) and bottom (11, adjust or plate. Between the top (6, and bottom (11, adjustor plate, the adjustor rod nut (4, will be Placed. Top adjustor plate (6, is permanently welded with the adjustor sleeve (3, and bottom adjustor plate (11, is linked with top adjustor plate (6, by means of bolts (10, and locking nuts (7,.
By rotating the adjustor rod nut (4, clockwise, the adjustor rod (5) will move downwards with the sector plate (1). Similarly by rotating the adjustor rod nut (4, in anti-clockwise direction, the adjustor rod (5) will move upward with the sector plate (1,.

To rotate the adjuster rod nut (4) for sector plate movement, presently heavy spanners (8) are used. It is difficult also to use the heavy spanner (8) at a height to rotate the adjustor rod nut (4). The spanner is handled by two persons due to its weight and size. It is also not safe to work inside the center section. For sector plate movement, the three adjustor assembly have to be adjusted evenly and also difficult while working with a heavy spanner. The invention overcomes the above drawback.
Instead of rotating the adjustor rod nut (4) for sector plate movement, it is developed sector plate movement bracket (9) for movement of the adjustor rod (5) up and down.
The new sector plate movement bracket (9) is linked with the bottom adjustor plate (11) with the same bolt (10) and locking nut (7) of top (6) and bottom (11) adjustor plate. By rotating the central bolt (12) of the newly developed sector plate movement bracket (9) in clockwise direction, the adjustor rod (5) will move upwards with sector plate. By rotating the central bolt (12) in anti-clockwise direction, the adjustor rod (5) will move downward with sector plate. The central bolt (12) is rotated by using pneumatic gun.

WE CLAIM
1. A device for easy movement of sector plate for cold end center section of airpreheater comprising: -
a sector plate assembly consisting of sector plate (1), adjuster rod (5), adjustor rod nut (4), top plate (2) and adjustor sleeve (3) wherein the said sector plate (1) is covered with axial seal and linked with the top plate (2) of center section;
the adjuster rod (5) passing through the adjustor sleeve (3), one face of which is welded to the top plate (2) for carrying the load of sector plate (1) whereas the other face of the adjustor sleeve (3) is welded to the top adjustor plate (6);
the said adjustor plate (6) linked with a bottom adjustor plate (11) by means of plurality of bolts (10) and locking nuts (7), the arrangement being made in a manner so that the adjustor rod (5) is centrally placed between the top (6) and bottom (11) adjustor plate characterized in that a sector plate movement bracket (9) with a central threaded hole for holding a central bolt (12), is disposed in the assembly below the bottom adjustor plate (11) and mounted on the same bolts (10) and nut (7) of the top (6) and bottom (11) adjustor plate such that when the rotation is given to the central bolt (12) by a pneumatic gun (13) in clockwise or anti clockwise direction, it moves the adjustor rod (5) upward or downward direction thus transferring the movement to sector plate (1) upward and downward.

2. A method for easy movement of sector plate for cold end center section of airpreheater comprising: -
placing a central bolt (12) on the central threaded hole of the sector plate movement bracket (9) such that the top face of the bolt abut with the bottom face of adjustor rod (5);
rotating the adjustor rod (5) with the help of a pneumatic gun (13) for bringing the sector plate up and down.
