COMPLETE SPECIFICATION
THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a device assisting in drawing shapes. More specifically, the present invention relates to a device assisting in drawing shapes with at least one edge having a profile that enables easy lifting of the device by a human using one or more fingers or fingernails or combinations of one or more fingers and fingernails.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] In the contemporary world, many devices have been devised to assist drawing and writing. For example, scale, protractor, set squares etc., assist in drawing multiple shapes with precision. The examples mentioned above are essential devices familiar to laypeople, even children. The present invention is not limited to these devices provided for ease of understanding.
[0003] In the known art, these devices, for example, the scale, may have a rectangular shape with four edges, an upper surface, and a lower surface. The scale has graduations configured thereon for facilitating length measurement. Typically, the scale is placed over a surface of the object whose length is to be measured, such that the lower surface of the scale is placed in contact with the surface of the object, and the graduations facilitate the measurement of the length of the object. The width of the scale may be of few millimeters. Typically, the width or thickness of the scale or any such device may be 0.5 mm to 5 mm at most.
[0004] While measuring such dimensions, for example, length, it may be required to lift the device (scale in the above case) many times and place it at different positions. Typically, the device is lifted by hand, especially by fingers and maybe nails. The known devices present some problems, especially while lifting the devices.
[0005] When a human attempts to lift a device having a thickness in the range of 0.5 mm to 5 mm, the device is not easy to lift as the thickness is small that makes the lifting of the device non-ergonomic and difficult.
[0006] While attempting to lift the device, there is always a possibility, due to the less thickness, that the edge of the device may hurt the fingers of a person lifting the device or may penetrate the finger or may penetrate between the nail’s lower surface and the finger’s upper surface.
[0007] Also, there is a possibility that the edge of the device may slip from the fingers and the nails of the user thereby rendering the lifting of the device inconvenient.
[0008] Thus, there is a need to provide remedy for the situation mentioned above. In other words, there is an urgent need to provide devices that do not hurt the person lifting the devices nor cause any harm thereto. Further, there is need to provide devices which reduce or eliminate the inconvenience caused by the conventional devices during lifting. Further, there is a need to provide easy and ergonomic devices to use and lift.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0009] Some of the objects of the presently disclosed invention, of which at the minimum one object is fulfilled by at least one embodiment disclosed herein, are as follows:
[00010] An object of the present invention is to provide an alternative that overcomes at least one drawback encountered in the existing prior art;
[00011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a device that assists the drawing of shapes and measuring;
[00012] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a device assisting in drawing of shapes and measuring, which is easy and ergonomic for humans to use and lift; and
[00013] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a device assists in drawing of shapes and measuring, which reduces and eliminates the possibility of hurting or penetrating the human’s fingers while lifting the same.
[00014] Other objects and benefits of the present invention will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to bind the scope of the present invention.
