A Device For And Method Of Fixing Stainless Steel Sleeve Permanently Over Super Heater And Reheater Coils Used In Circulating Fluidised Bed Combustion Boilers.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for and method of fixing stainless steel sleeve permanently over super heater and reheater coils used in circulating fluidised bed combustion boilers. The sleeve (10) through which a tube (09) is to be inserted for a shrink fit assembly is heated to a temperature of 700 – 9000C. The hot sleeve is placed on a groove (15) whose diameter is bigger than diameter of sleeve (10) by 0.02 mm. The tubes are placed on V-rollers and inserted in between pinch rollers (11) and motorized rollers (12). The motor is then switched on when the tube is automatically fed into the hot sleeve. The assembly is then allowed to cool for 30 seconds for a shrink fit. Mechanical testing is carried out to check the strength of the fitting. The operation is carried out continuously. Fig. 2.
