1. A device 100 for determining soil properties, the device 100 comprising:
a tubular housing 110 having an open lower end and a closed upper end;
a tubular member 120 extending form a top end 120A to a bottom end 120B,
the top end of the tubular member retained in the tubular housing 110 through
the open lower end, and adapted to move within the tubular housing 110 when
the bottom end is driven in soil;
a load cell 130 provided at the top end 120A of the tubular member 120;
a drive unit 170 for driving the device in soil, the drive unit 170 coupled with
the closed upper end of the tubular housing 110, whereby upon operation of
the drive unit 170, the bottom end of the tubular member 120B is driven in
soil and the closed end of the tubular housing 110 moves towards the load cell
transferring force on the load cell 130 which is indicative of soil compactness;
and
plurality of grooves 160 provided adjacent to the bottom end 120B, each
groove configured to receive an electrode for determining electrical
conductivity of soil.
2. The device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the grooves 160 are
circumferential or eccentrical grooves.

3. The device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the bottom end 120B has a regular/irregular conical or a hemispherical or a circular shape tip or shape.
4. The device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device 100 comprises a plate 190 extending perpendicularly from the top end 120A of the tubular member 120, the plate 190 configured to accommodate a proximity sensor 140.
5. The device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device 100 comprises a temperature sensor 150 configured to sense temperature of the soil, the temperature sensor 150 integrated with the bottom end 120B of the tubular member 120.
6. The device 100 as claimed in claim 1, further comprises of a mounting frame 180 for adapting the device 100 to a vehicle.
7. The device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the drive unit 170 is connected with a hydrostatic unit of a vehicle.
8. The device 100 as claimed in claim 7, wherein the drive unit 170 is a double acting cylinder.

9. The device 100 as claimed in claim 1, further comprises a GPS module 230.
