Description:

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:

[001] This invention relates to Real Time Radiography (RTR) evaluation for short length welded tubes with collet grip adaptor. More particularly the invention relates to safety of handling short length welded tubes while Real Time Radiography test.

BACKGROUND/PRIOR ART OF THE INVENTION:

[002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.

[003] In site work, the combination of tubes having different diameter, thickness and different materials welding is difficult and also not possible in some cases. Therefore, we welding that dissimilar joints in shop floor. The STB welded tube has very short length which length is only (200+200) 400 mm. It is easy to handle long length tubes on conveyor and testing in RTR. But, when short length is being welded in STBW machine, it is very difficult to handling and testing of short length tube in RTR. Because, it has contained more manual work and unsafe work condition. After the STB welding, the job is manually moved to RTR center.

[004] In this case it is very difficult to handle the short length tubes to check the RTR result. This short length tubes are not able to hold on conveyor mechanism which provided in RTR center for long length. Therefore, it is very difficult while operators are manually handling short length welded tube for checking in RTR. And also the job is make hazardous due to absorb high temperature during welding period. Due to radiation exposure, we are seeking for a proper adaptor which Internal Bore nearer to Outer Diameter of job and which can hold a job and provide sufficient distance for temporary basis.

[005] The same job is very difficult to fixing and removal from adaptor due to improper fixing of wedge piece. Then, the same adaptor has to manually feeding to the RTR room and to rotating the job through operator as per instruction of RTR inspector. Wobbling and skew problems have to be faced due to not being fixed job properly. Due to X- Rays radiation, operator is required to maintain maximum distance while rotation of job to avoid radiation exposure risk. Nevertheless, operators are absorbing radiation with permissible limit.

[006] In view of the above, there is requirement to devise an apparatus which can address the aforesaid shortcoming(s). Hence, the present invention has been introduced.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:

[007] An object of the present invention is to provide a device for handling short length welded tubes while Real Time Radiography test.

[008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a device for improving safety in movement and evaluation of RTR test.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:

[009] One or more drawbacks of conventional systems and process are overcome, and additional advantages are provided through the apparatus/composition and a method as claimed in the present disclosure. Additional features and advantages are realized through the technicalities of the present disclosure. Other embodiments and aspects of the disclosure are described in detail herein and are considered to be part of the claimed disclosure.

[0010] Accordingly, there is provided a device for handling short length welded tubes test evaluation. According to the invention, A COLLET GRIP ADAPTOR is used for handling short length welded tubes evaluation. So that Adaptor can be conveniently handle in RTR centre. The collet grip head is being connected with standard length tube with help of four screw.

[0011] Consequently, the collet head can hold job firmly and straight position. So that wobble during rotation of job for RTR testing is avoid. Now, the adaptor can be rotate by vertical pinch roller mechanism. Henceforth, the operator will not be exposed to radiation. In addition to, it is very convenient to hold and remove the job from collet head. It is also convenient and expedite processes established during RTR result.
