Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to lifting and assembly of a Technological
shaft with a Turbine rotor. Mor~ particularly, the present invention relates to a
Device for lifting, and positioning of a Technological shaft in horizontal position
including safe assembly with a Turbine rotor without denting the rotor.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
At present, the lifting, positioning, and assembly of a technological shaft is
carried - out firstly by lifting the technological shaft manually by using wire
ropes. Thereafter, the technological shaft is rotated manually so as to place its
coupling holes in a matching position with those of the Turbine rotor. However,
the manual lifting and rotation of the technological shaft at a height is always
accident prone. Further, during the assembly of the shaft with the turbine rotor,
inspite of taking all precautionary measures, the guide diameter of the rotor
often gets dented. This prior art method of assembly takes a lot of time too.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore an object of the present invention to propose a device for lifting,
positioning, and assembly of a technological shaft with the turbine rotor, which
eliminates the disadvantages of the prior art. Another object of the present invention is to propose a device for lifting,
positioning, and assembly of a technological shaft with the turbine rotor, wherein
the assembly is made in a horizontal position.
A still another object of the present invention is to propose a device for lifting,
positioning, and assembly of a technological shaft with the turbine rotor, which
ensures an easy rotation of the technological shaft for perfect positioning, and
assemblywith the turbine rotor.
Yet another object of the present invention is to propose a device for lifting,
positioning, and assembly of a technological shaft with the turbine rotor, which
reducesthe assembly time.
A further object of the present invention is to propose a device for lifting,
positioning, and assembly of a technological shaft with the turbine rotor, which
reduces the possibility of any dents on the gUide diameter of the Turbine rotor
while assembling the technological shaft.
A still further object of the present invention is to propose a device for lifting,
positioning, and assembly of a technological shaft with the turbine rotor, which
eliminates the probability of any accident taking place during the lifting,
positioning and assembly of the technological shaft with the turbine rotor. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, there is provided a Device for lifting, positioning, and assembly of a
technological shaft in horizontal position for easy and safe assembly with the
Turbine Rotor, the device comprising; a frame; a roller support for supporting a
first diameter of the technological shaft; a roller support for supporting a second
diameter of the technological shaft, the first diameter being larger that the
second diameter; a stopper plate; at least one screw for fixing the stopper plate,
in the frame; said roller supports welded to the frame at two predetermined
locations to support and rotate a technological shaft; and the stopper plate fixed
in the frame at a location such that the stopper plate is enabled to prevent the
axial movement of the technological shaft to eliminate the possibility of an
accident.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 (a) shows a device for lifting, positioning, and assembly of a Technological
shaft in horizontal position with a turbine rotor according to present invention.
Fig. 1 (b) shows view A of Fig. lea)
Fig. 1 (c) shows Section - BBof fig. 1 (a). Fig. 2 shows the frame of the device according to an embodiment of the present
invention along with the stopper with a hole.
Fig. 3 shows an overall layout of the device of invention.
Fig. 4 shows a device of prior art.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF
THEPRESENTINVENTION
Figs. l(a) to l(c) show the device of the invention which comprises a fabricated
frame (1), at least two Roller supports (2,3) welded on the frame (1) for
supporting a larger and a smaller diameter of a technological shaft (TS)
respectively. A Stopper plate (4) is clamped on the frame (1) by at least one
screw (5) inside a groove of the bigger diameter of the Technological shaft thus
stopping any aXial movement of the Technological shaft. After assembly of the
Technological shaft with the turbine Rotor, the screw (5) is loosened and the
stopper (4) falls down and the device is moved away by a crane.
Fig. 2 shows the frame (1) of the device. The Frame (1) comprises a square
section (SQ) structure, a plurality of ribs (6), at least two plates (7), a plurality of
channels (8), and at least four Lifting Hooks (9) welded to Square sections. A threaded hole (H1) configured in the frame (1) is used for fixing the Stopper
plate (4) (see fig. lea) & l(b)) by the screw (5) (see fig. l(a) & l(b)) using a
corresponding hole (H2) of the Stopper plate (4). The device is lifted by using
wire ropes in the lifting hooks.
Fig. 3 shows the layout of the inventive device
Fig. 4 shows the diagram of prior art device.
