Specification

Field of the invention:
The present invention relates to a device for lubrication of the integral parts of an engine, more particularly, a device for lubricating the clutch assembly of a two wheeler vehicle.
Background of the invention:
In two wheeler engine, in general the transmission is integral part of enjine. The engine oil is pumped at a high pressure or splashed to lubricate Crankshaft, cam shaft, cylinder piston, gear, bearing and clutch..
The oil plays an important role to dissipate the heat generated in the clutch during partial clutch disengagement or slippage. The excessive heat generated in the clutch increases the temperature of clutch friction material, which leads to clutch friction material burning. Thus it is essential to dissipate the heat and engine lubricating oil acts as an carrier. Secondly the oil film on the clutch friction material also reduces the friction and the clutch temperature.

The engine clutch depending upon the engine layout is either partially dipped in the lubricating oil or oil is splashed through transmission gear on the clutch thus providing the lubrication and also help in heat dissipation.
Prior Art:
US patent No. 4974561 teaches a lubricating device for engine , an engine having a camshaft mounted on a cylinder head via plural camshaft supporting portions; a camshaft sprocket coaxially coupled to the camshaft; an idler sprocket rotatably supported between the camshaft and the crankshaft on the cylinder head; a first chain reeved around the crankshaft and the idler sprocket; and a second chain reeved around the idler sprocket and the camshaft sprocket, an oil jet hole is formed in the frontmost camshaft supporting portion in communication with a main oil passage via an annular oil groove formed in the camshaft and an inclined oil groove formed in the cylinder head, so that lubricant can be sufficiently jetted from the oil jet hole to the second chain located near the frontmost

camshaft supporting member, without- use of an additional oil jet pipe member.
Object of the invention:
The main object of the invention to provide fins on the oil pump gear or any other rotating part inside the gear box, having a feature to splash the oil on clutch increases the clutch life due to better heat dissipation and low heat generation during clutch slippage.
Summary of the invention:
A more complete appreciation of the invention and the
attachment advantages thereof will be more clearly
understood by reference to the following accompanying
drawings which are for illustrative purpose, hence the same
should not be construed to restrict the scope of the
invention
Fig 1. illustrates the partial schematic view of engine showing the crank shaft (1 ), idler gear cum timing sprocket (2 ) and the oil pump (3 ) .On the oil pump gear (4 ) two fins (5) have been provided to facilitates the oil splash on the clutch assembly (6).

Fig. 2 Shows the oil pump (3) and gear with fins (5)
According to the present invention, a motor cycle clutch comprising crank shaft (1), a idler gear cum timing sprocket (2) provided en the crank shaft and a oil pump (3) provided adjacent to the timing sprocket wherein the oil pump is provided with a oil pump gear (4) characterized in that means are provided to facilitate the oil splash on the clutch assembly.
According to another embodiment of the invention, two fins (5) are provide to facilitate the oil splash.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the two fins (5) are placed diagonally parallel to each other around the oil pump gear.
Another embodiment of the invention, the fins (5) are tapered at the end point adjacent to the gear outer section.
Another embodiment of the invention, the fins (5) are rectangular in cross section to protruding outwardly.

In the present invention as shown in fig 2, the fins (5) have been provided in -he oil pump gear which is always partially dipped in the engine oil and splashed the oil over the clutch (6) . The presence of excessive oil over the clutch increases tne clutch life.
While particular embodiments of the present invention have been illustrated and described, it would be obvious to those skilled in art that various other changes and modifications can be made without departing from the sprit and scope of the invention. It is therefore intended to cover in the appenced claims all such changes and modifications that are with in the scope of this invention.

We claim:
1. A motor cycle clutch comprising crank shaft (1), a idler gear cum timing sprocket (2) provided on the crank shaft and a oil pump (3) provided adjacent to the timing sprocket wherein the oil pump is provided with a oil pump gear (4) characterized in that means are provided to facilitate the oil splash on the clutch assembly.
2. A motor cycle clutch as claimed in claim 1, wherein the means to provide to facilitate the oil splash are two fins.
3. A motor cycle clutch as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said two fins are placed diagonally parallel to each other around the oil pump gear.
4. A motor cycle clutch as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fins are tapered at the end point adjacent to the gear outer section.
5. A motor cycle clutch as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fins are rectangular in cross section protruding outwardly.
6. A motor cycle clutch substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
