Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an improved Hinge Bracket and Hinge tube.
More particularly, the invention relates to a device for mounting a swing door on
the frame of control equipment panel for power plants.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Control Equipment for power plants and Process Industries, are assembled inside
the Panels / Cubicles with doors on Front and Rear sides. Doors are made up of
CRCS Sheets with 2/3mm thickness. Doors are of swing type and are fixed to the
cubicle frame with 5 No's of Aluminum Hinge brackets, Hinge tubes and Pin.
Hinge tubes are welded to the door. One end of the Hinge Brackets is fixed to
the Aluminum Frame and the other end is connected to the Hinge Tube which is
welded to the door through hinge Pin as shown in Figure-3. Aluminum hinge
Brackets fixed to the door, according to prior art, develop cracks because of the
door weight and door mounted components. Further, a maximum swing of the
door with Aluminum Hinge Bracket gets limited to 85° as shown in Figure 7.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore an object of the invention to propose a device for mounting a
swing door on the frame of control equipment panel for power plants.
Another object of the invention is to propose a device for mounting a swing door
on the frame of control equipment panel for power plants, which is enabled to
avoid developing frequent cracks on the hinge brackets of the device due to door
weight.

A further object of the invention is to propose a device for mounting a swing
door on the frame of control equipment panel for power plants, which allows the
swing door an optimum swing of 90°.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, device is provided for mounting a swing door on the frame of
control equipment panel for power plants, comprising hinge bracket made of
steel material and constructed with bends on two opposed surfaces; a hinge
tube made of bright steel bar having two flattened side surfaces, the hinge tube
constructed with a chamfer on one corner, fillet on another corner and surfaces
with offset hole for insertion of a hinge pin configured on an upper face of the
tube; and a self-gripping gasket for sealing the door gap when mounted on the
aluminum frame. According to the invention the Hinge Brackets are made up of
2.5mm thick steel sheets and formed by using tools to give more strength. Doors
with new Hinge Bracket assembly can withstand more door weight and the
Swing of the Doors with the new Hinge Bracket is up to 90°.

Figure - 7 shows the door assembly of prior art in an opening mode (85°).
Figure - 8 shows the door assembly of the invention with an opening of 90°.
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The prior art Hinge Bracket shown in Figure 1, is made of Aluminum Alloy
material. At one surface one relief cut is made for gasket seating, this cut is the
critical area where the cracks develops.
The prior art Hinge Tube shown in Figure 2, is made up of Bright steel bar with
one side flat surface and one hole for Hinge pin insertion.
As shown in the Figure 3, according to prior art, the Door is mounted on an
Aluminum Frame with the help of Hinge Tube and Aluminum Hinge Bracket.
Figure 4 shows a Steel Hinge Bracket according to the invention which is made
of HRC steel sheet of 2.5mm thick. Bends are given for sturdiness, to withstand
the force applied during the swing of the door.
Figure 5 shows a Hinge Tube of the invention, made up of Bright steel bar, with
two sides' flat surfaces and a chamfer on one side and an offset hole for Hinge
pin insertion.
As shown in the Figure 6, according to the invention, the Door is mounted on the
Aluminum Frame with the help of the Hinge Tube and the Steel Hinge Bracket.
Figure 7 shows a prior art door assembly which can be opened to a maximum
angle of 85°. Figure 8 shows the inventive holding assembly which allows
opening of the door to a maximum angle of 90°.

WE CLAIM
1. A device for mounting a swing door on the frame of control equipment
panel for power plants, comprising:
- hinge bracket made of steel material and constructed with bends on
two opposed surfaces;
- a hinge tube made of bright steel bar having two flattened side
surfaces, the hinge tube constructed with a chamfer on one corner,
fillet on another corner and two side surfaces with offset hole for
insertion of a hinge pin configured on an upper face of the tube;
- a self-gripping gasket for sealing the door gap when mounted on the
aluminum frame.

2. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hinge bracket is made of
hot-rolled cold steel sheet of at least 2.5mm thick.
3. The device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the device allows opening
of the door assembly up to at least 90°.
