Abstract: 1. A device for preventing the wiring harness of a motor vehicle from entangling with the driver"s legs or otherwise getting damaged, comprising an envelop fixed to a support in the driver"s cabin of the vehicle, the envelop enabling the harness to be snugly routed through It, to retain the harness, undisplaced, from position.
This invention relates to a device for preventing the wiring harness of a motor vehicle from entangling with the driver's legs or otherwise getting damaged, more particularly, though not exclusively, a motor vehicle, such as, for example, an autohckshaw .
An object of this invention is to provide a device for a wiring harness in the driver's cabin of a motor vehicle for preventing the driver's legs from entangling or otherwise fouling with the wiring, which is likely to lead to bodily injury or traffic accidents. The device proposed also protects the wiring harness from damage by exposure to the weather among other causes, apart from preventing any part of the wiring slipping down through head tube floor joinery.
The device for preventing the wiring harness of a motor vehicle from entangling with the driver's legs or otherwise getting damaged, according to this invention, comprises an envelop fixed to a support in the driver's cabin of the vehicle, the envelop enabling the harness to be snugly routed through It, to retain the harness, undisplaced, from position.
The device proposed will now be described with reference to the
accompanying drawings,
Fig. 1 illustrating the conventional arrangement of the wiring harness
and
Fig.2 iliustrating by way of example, and not by way of limitation, one of
possible embodiments of this invention
Conventionally, the wiring harness is routed through brackets and exposed in the drive area as shown in figurel. This allows the wiring harness to be open to the drawbacks mentioned above.
This invention proposes a device, according to one embodiment of which an envelop E is attached to brackets B welded/ bolted to the floorboard F of the vehicle, as shown in figures 2a and 2b. The wiring harness H passes through the envelop E preventing any damage to the former.
Alternatively, according to another embodiment, the envelop E is
i'
mounted on the support tube T in the driver's cabin, as shown in figures 3a and 3 b. The device allows the wiring harness to be passed through the envelop E snugly and prevents any damage to the wiring harness.
The said device packs together the wiring harness and cable cluster at the head tube section entry and covers the harness and cluster to avoid damage thereto while the driver keeps his foot down for applying the brake or while resting. The device prevents rain water entry (splash) into the chassis through head tube and floor joinery area.
It will be appreciated from the foregoing that various other embodiments of the device proposed are possible without departing from the scope and ambit of this
invention.
We Claim:
1. A device for preventing the wiring harness of a motor vehicle from
entangling with the driver's legs or otherwise getting damaged,
comprising an envelop fixed to a support in the driver's cabin of the
vehicle, the envelop enabling the harness to be snugly routed through
It, to retain the harness, undisplaced, from position.
2. A device as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the envelop is fixed to the
floor, as a support, in the driver's cabin of the vehicle, and held in
brackets bolted or welded thereto .
3. A device as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the envelop is mounted on
the support tube in the driver's cabin of the vehicle, and fixed thereto.
4. A device for preventing the wiring harness of a motor vehicle from
entangling with the driver's legs or otherwise getting damaged,
substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying
drawings.
