FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to multiple machining fixture. More particularly, the invention relates to a device for holding and machining multiple components at a time to enhance productivity.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In prior art methods, the components are machined one by one in slot milling machines resulting in lesser productivity and requiring enhanced human effort. For example, a Stem of Valve and other similar components require T-Slot or some type of slot to be milled/machined on the components. Generally, this is done by holding the job in a chuck or a fixture individually. However, each fixture can accommodate a single component at one point of time. Accordingly, each component has to be machined separately.
Thus, the prior art method entails the disadvantage of low productivity due to higher loading time and inability to hold more than one job at a time.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore an object of the invention to propose a device for simultaneous slot milling/machining of multiple components in a milling machine, which increases productivity.
Another object of the invention is to propose a device for simultaneous slot milling/machining of multiple components in a milling machine, which provides higher degree of accuracy in the machining operation.
A further object of the invention is to propose a device for simultaneous slot milling/machining of multiple components in a milling machine, which reduces human fatigue and enhance comfort.
A still further object of the invention is to propose a device for simultaneous slot milling/machining of multiple components in a milling machine, which enables repeatability of a pre-fixed dimension in the components.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly there is provided a device for simultaneous slot milling/machining of multiple components in a milling machine. The device comprises a multiplicity of holes configured on a base to hold a plurality of jobs, each hole is configured with a set of threaded tappings with an alien screw for tightly holding the job to prevent the effect of machine vibration and cutting forces; a plurality of guide bars holding the job including the device firmly against the cutting forces; a multiplicity of collars guiding the job to enable an accurate machining; a corresponding number of guide bars determining the exact depth of cut. The device is fitted onto a base for fastening the device onto machine bed.
The new device has the ability to hold multiple jobs at a time and also machining all the jobs at the same time.
A guide fin is disposed at the entry of the device which allows fixing of the depth of cut for each of the slots as designed. Therefore, the depth of cut is also controlled for each component corresponding to the required level.
Thus, loading, setting, and machining of multiple jobs, are set one-time which increases the productivity.
