A Device For Trimming And Grooming Of Nails

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for trimming and grooming of nails. The device comprises of a nail grinder and buffer wheel. The device allows nails of all five fingers of a hand, to be trimmed and groomed simultaneously. The device also allows specific buttons for choice of user to choose a specific kind of shape of nail. The device allows the nails of both left and right hand to be groomed specifically of a desired length and shape, by choice of user. The device comprises of motors which work based on preprogrammed electronic circuits, for controlled operation of trimmer and buffer wheels.

Specification

Claims:We claim:

1. A device for nail trimming and grooming, said device comprises
a casing enclosing trimming and grooming arrangement arranged within a trimmer container,
a trimmer container position pillar;
a battery;
a charging pin;
an electronic circuitry;
slits for placing fingers,
skin barriers in front of slits; and
a screw shaft for movement of the trimming and grooming arrangement;
wherein each casing has five slits for placing finger nails,
each nail contacts a trimming and grooming arrangement, said arrangement comprising of an abrasive wheel, a buff wheel attached at ends of a shaft;
the shaft carries a wheel driving motor for driving the buff wheel and the abrasive wheel;
a pinion driving motor is connected to a vertically placed pinion wheel gear which moves over a rack arrangement for allowing the abrasive wheel and the buff wheel from left to right, or right to left edges of the nail;
the wheel driving motor and the pinion driving motor is mount to the screw shaft.

2. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the rack arrangement has toothed rack onto which the pinion wheel gear rotates on a toothed rack allowing movement of the abrasive wheel and the buff wheel along edges of the nail.

3. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the abrasive wheel is made up of fine grain material.

4. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the buff wheel is made up of leather strop.

5. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein when user places right hand the controls of the device are upward such that the motor rotates clockwise and nail trimming operation is carried out.

6. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein when the user places the left hand the device has to be tilted top to bottom such that the control switches will be placed underneath and the abrasive wheel rotation will be anticlockwise enabling nail trimming operation to be carried out.

7. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the shaft carries a bevel gear arrangement which transforms the horizontal direction of power transmitted from the wheel driving motor.

8. The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the trimmer container on top and bottom consists of two spring loaded cylinders with ball edges that keep the trimmer containers in position without bending up or down while loading.

The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pinion wheel motor and wheel driving motors coordinated between themselves as per the numerical control program that can be fed to the electronic system which also controls the direction of rotation of the motors for both the hands as per the position of the box assuming it for the left or the right hand.

The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein on top of the device are input buttons, which have different custom adjustments in terms of length and shape of the nails as per the requirement of the user wherein the screw shaft is responsible for the Z–axis movement of the entire container which decides the length of the nail as set by the user which upon rotating clockwise and anticlockwise pushes the container forward and backward enabling the user to set the device automatically adjust according to the requirement of the size and shape.

, Description:Field of Invention:
Present invention relates to a device for trimming and grooming of nails. More particularly, the invention relates to a device for the trimming and grooming of nails, based on the various specifications, selected by the user.

Background of Invention:
US 3215150 relates to an improved nail file, for filing finger nails, and one of its objects is to provide a nail file with means for scraping the inside surfaces of the nails, after they have been trimmed, so that all attached dirt can be removed from the nails and a better showing thus made.

US 327065 relates to a device for cleaning and cutting of nails, said device comprises of cutting-jaws curved to insure for the nail the proper curved cut. The handles carrying the cutting-jaws are pivoted together, like shears, a spring normally acting to keep the cutting edges separated.

The above invention relates to moreover cleaning of nails and trimming using cutting jaws. Furthermore, the present invention provides an apparatus wherein all the fingers of a hand can be trimmed and groomed simultaneously, thus saving time and energy.

Summary of Invention:

According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a device for nail trimming and grooming, said device comprises a casing enclosing trimming and grooming arrangement arranged within a trimmer container, a trimmer container position pillar; a battery; a charging pin; an electronic circuitry; slits for placing fingers, skin barrier in front of slits; and a screw shaft for movement of the trimming and grooming arrangement; wherein each casing has five slits for placing finger nails, each nail contacts a trimming and grooming arrangement, said arrangement comprising of an abrasive wheel, a buff wheel attached at ends of a shaft; the shaft carries a motor for driving the buff wheel and the abrasive wheel; the motor is connected to a vertically placed pinion wheel gear which moves over a rack arrangement for allowing the abrasive wheel and the buff wheel from left to right, or right to left edges of the nail; the wheel driving motor and the pinion driving motor is mount to the screw shaft.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, the rack arrangement has toothed rack onto which the pinion wheel gear rotates on a toothed rack allowing movement of the abrasive wheel and the buff wheel along edges of the nail.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, the abrasive wheel is made up of fine grain material.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, the buff wheel is made up of leather strap.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, the screw shaft is responsible for the Z–axis movement of the entire container which decides the length of the nail as set by the user.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, the Z-axis shaft, which upon rotating clockwise and anticlockwise pushes the container forward and backward enabling the user to set the device automatically adjust according to the requirement of the size and shape of nail.
Yet according to an aspect of the invention, when user places right hand the controls of the device are upward such that the motor rotates clockwise and nail trimming operation is carried out.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, when the user places the left hand the device has to be tilted top to bottom such that the control switches will be placed underneath and the abrasive wheel rotation will be anticlockwise enabling nail trimming operation to be carried out.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, the shaft carries a bevel gear arrangement which transforms the horizontal direction of power transmitted from the wheel driving motor.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, the trimmer container on top and bottom consists of two spring loaded cylinders with ball edges that keep the trimmer containers in position without bending up or down while loading.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, wherein the charging pin is an AC charging pin for charging the battery.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, the X and Z axis motors coordinated between themselves as per the numerical control program that can be fed to the electronic system which also controls the direction of rotation of the motors for both the hands as per the position of the box assuming it for the left or the right hand.

Yet according to an aspect of the invention, on top of the device are input buttons, which have different custom adjustments in terms of length and shape of the nails as per the requirement of the user.

Detailed description of invention:

As shown in Figure 1, the device 100 comprises of a casing 101 with a slot 102 for AC charging. The top surface 101t of the casing 101 comprises of a set of buttons 103 for specific kind of grooming of nails.

Figure 2 shows inner view of the casing 101 enclosing five trimming and grooming arrangements, wherein each the trimming and grooming arrangement comprises of a trimmer container 201 supported by a trimmer container position pillar 202.A screw shaft 203 allows movement of the trimming and grooming arrangement (shown in figure 3).
The trimming and grooming arrangement 200 issupported by the position pillars 202. The casing 100 comprises of five slits 300 for placing fingers of a hand, which nails are to be trimmed and groomed. The slits 300 towards end comprises of skin barrier 301 which is made up of rubber to avoid harming of the skin on side of the nails. The screw shaft 203 is connected to a screw shaft motor 211 and is held with its bottom to the trimmer container position pillars 202 which acts as a reference with which the trimmer container 201 moves forward and backward as per the length of nail required by the user. The top and bottom of the trimmer container 201 consists of two spring loaded cylinders 400 with ball edges 401that keeps the trimmer containers 201 in position without bending up or down while loading.
Figure 3 shows arrangement of the trimming and grooming arrangement 200 comprises of an abrasive wheel 204, a buff wheel 205arranged on a small shaft 206. The shaft 206 carries a wheel driving motor 207 for circular motion of the buff wheel 205 and the abrasive wheel 204along its axis. The motor 207 is connected to a vertically placed pinion wheel gear 208 which moves over a rack arrangement 209 for allowing the abrasive wheel 204 and the buff wheel 205from left to right or right to left of the edges of the nail. The pinion wheel gear 208 moves over the toothed rack arrangement 209, with help of a pinion wheel driving motor 210.

Figure 4 shows the interior of the casing 101 without the trimming and grooming arrangement 200. Figure 4 shows guideways 401 on which the ball end of the spring loaded cylinders 400 travels ensuring a straight and non-deflected movement of the trimmer containers 201. A wall of the casing comprises of a 12V battery402 that gets charged and operated.To another wall of the casing 101 is provided an electronic circuitry compartment 403 which controls rotation speed, direction, and coordinated motion of the all the motors to achieve different shapes of finger nails as per a numerical control program that can be fed to the electronic system which also controls the direction of rotation of the motors for both the hands as per the position of the box assuming it for the left or the right hand.

According to an embodiment of the invention, the same device shall be made required modifications to accommodate the toes of the legs.

Various modifications to these embodiments are apparent to those skilled in the art from the description and the accompanying drawing. The principles associated with the various embodiments described herein may be applied to other embodiments. Therefore, the description is not intended to be limited to the embodiments shown along with the accompanying drawings but is to be provided broadest scope consistent with the principles and the novel and inventive features disclosed or suggested herein. Accordingly, the invention is anticipated to hold on to all other such alternatives, modifications, and variations that fall within the spirit and scope of the present invention and appended claims.
