DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a device to eliminate use of water in urinals and more specifically the present invention relates to a device that eliminate the use of flush in the urinals and prevent spreading of urine odour.
BACKGROUND
Water is present in earth in abundance. But less than 1 % of water is useful and available for human. Hence there is huge scarcity of water. In coming decade major cities of world will be out of water supplies. In order to preserve water, there is a need of a sustainable system that reduces wastage of water and optimize water consumption. The majority part of water is wasted in the sanitation and cleaning system. Even to recycle the wastewater there is need of large amount of fresh water to dilute the pollutant so that current sewage cleaning technology can clean the wastewater. The main source of wastewater from houses and commercial buildings are the toilets and urinals. Lots of water is used in flush of urinals. The urine is fluid that can flow into drains but still it uses flush which causes huge water loss. People often worry that if the urinal isn’t regularly flushed then this means that the bowl becomes less hygienic and will eventually begin to smell. However, the reverse is true. Every time you flush a urinal the bacterium in the water actively breaks down the urine to uric acid and thus causing ammonia generation. Thus, thousand litre of water is wasted in the urinal.
US9683359B2 discloses an apparatus for a waterless urinal as described. The apparatus comprises a housing defining a chamber for receiving a consumable de -odourizer, the housing including an access device to permit access to the chamber for allowing replacement of the consumable de-odourizer.
The existing inventions are not effective in reducing water consumption. In the existing systems there is need of refilling cartridges and they also require regular maintenance thus existing systems is not cost-effective in terms of operations. The present invention overcomes the deficiencies in the prior art. Hence there is need of the present invention.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
The main objective of the present invention is to develop device that eliminates the use of water in urinals.
Yet another objective of the present invention is to develop a device that can be retrofitted in the existing urinal system to eliminate the use of flush.
Yet another objective of the invention is to develop a device that do not require odour trapping liquid cartridges which requires frequent refilling.
Yet another objective of the invention is to reduce the power consumption due to cleaning of the water and operation of flush.
Yet another objective of the invention is to prevent communicable diseases because of urine.
Further objectives and features of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description provided herein below, in which various embodiments of the disclosed present invention are illustrated by way of example and appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
The present invention relates to a device to eliminate use of water in urinals and eliminate odour. Herein the device is able to be retrofitted in all existing urinal system. The device includes a threaded main body, a rubber seal, a hexagonal threaded chuck nut, and a flap membrane valve. The threaded main body is T-Shaped hollow cylindrical body having thread on the lateral curved surface so that whole device is retrofitted into the drainage hole of urinal. The threaded main body is molded in single part. The threaded main body includes a top cap plate. The top cap plate is fixed on the top end of the threaded main body. Thus, the threaded main body looks like T-Shaped from the side-view. The top cap plate has plurality of holes so that urine liquid passed from urinal into the threaded main body of the device. The hexagonal threaded chuck nut mesh with thread of the threaded main body in order to retrofit the device into the drainage hole of urinal. The flap membrane valve is vertically fixed inside hollow cylindrical portion of the threaded main body. The flap membrane valve is one way valve that is designed in such a manner that eliminate requirement of water to flush urinal and the flap membrane valve also eliminates the odour to flows back to ambient. The flap membrane valve includes a vertical plate, a top funnel, a bottom funnel, and a flap membrane. The vertical plate has a oblong hole on the center of the vertical plate. The vertical plate includes a first vertical surface, and a second vertical surface. The first vertical surface and the second vertical surface are the opposite surfaces of the vertical plate. The top funnel is a vertically dissected cone that is welded on the top of the vertical plate such that from the top cap plate urine fluid is poured on the top funnel and flow down on the first vertical surface due to gravity. The bottom funnel is also the vertically dissected cone that is welded on the bottom side of the oblong hole of the vertical plate. From the top funnel urine fluid is poured on the bottom funnel while flowing down on the first vertical surface due to gravity. The flap membrane is a sheet having top part of the flap membrane is attached to the second vertical surface such that the flap membrane covers the oblong hole of the vertical plate. Thus, while the urine fluid is pouring on the bottom funnel the oblong hole is closed. After that the flap membrane opens the oblong hole of the vertical plate to allow the urine fluid to drain into the sewer pipe. Herein, the flap membrane valve allows only one way flow of the urine fluid into the sewer pipe because of design of the top funnel and the bottom funnel that allow the gravity flow of the urine fluid thus eliminating the requirement of water to be flushed into the urinal. The flap membrane valve does not allow the gases with foul odour to flow back from the sewer into the ambient because the flap membrane closes the oblong hole of the vertical plate.
An advantage of the present invention is that the present invention eliminates use of water in urinals.
Another advantage of the present invention is that the present invention is able to be retrofitted in the existing urinal system to eliminate the use of flush.
Yet another advantage of the present invention is that the present invention does not require odour trapping liquid cartridges which require frequent refilling.
Yet another advantage of the present invention is that the present invention reduces the power consumption due to cleaning with water and operation of flush.
Yet another advantage of the present invention is that the present invention is very reliable and requires very low maintenance thus cost effective.
Yet another advantage of the present invention is that the present invention prevents communicable diseases because of urine.
Further advantages and features of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description provided herein below, in which various embodiments of the disclosed present invention are illustrated by way of example and appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.
