Claims:We claim:
1. A dial and a case assembly (101) for a timepiece (100), the assembly (101) comprising:
a dial plate (6) comprising an inner radial surface (6a) and an outer radial surface (6b), wherein the outer radial surface (6b) is defined with a concave portion (6d);
a ring (2) housed on the dial plate (6), wherein an internal surface of the ring (2) is defined with a chamfered portion (11), wherein the chamfered portion (11) cooperates with the concave portion (6d) of the dial plate (6); and
a plurality of markings (3) defined on the chamfered portion (11);
wherein, light incident on the concave portion (6d) of the dial plate (6) reflects onto the chamfered portion (11) of the ring (2) to illuminate the plurality of markings (3) and reproduce an image of the markings (3) on the dial plate (6).

2. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one cavity is defined on a top surface of the ring (2) to accommodate a plurality of jewels (5).

3. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the chamfered portion (11) extends from the inner surface of the ring (2) towards an outer surface of the ring (2).

4. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the ring (2) is made of at least one of metal, polymer and thermo-sensitive material.

5. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of markings (3) are provided by at least one of etching process, fixing process, embossing process and enameling process.

6. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of markings (3) are made of at least one of metal, jewel, stone and polymeric material.

7. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of markings (3) include at least one of indication lines, numerals, picture and artwork representing functions of the timepiece (100).

8. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the inner radial surface (6a) of the dial plate (6) defined with flat shape and is configured to support a plurality of hands (4) of the timepiece (100).

9. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the concave portion (6d) of the outer radial surface (6b) is provided with at least one of glossy and mirror finish.

10. The assembly (101) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the light reflected onto chamfered portion (11) and internally reflects on the outer radial surface (6b) of the dial plate (6) to reproduce the image of the plurality of markings (3) on the dial plate (6).

11. A timepiece (100), comprising:
a casing comprising a top unit (1) and a bottom unit (7) defining an enclosure;
a dial assembly (101) is housed between the top and the bottom unit (7), the dial assembly (101) comprising:
a dial plate (6) comprising an inner radial surface (6a) and an outer radial surface (6b), wherein the outer radial surface (6b) is defined with a concave portion (6d);
a ring (2) housed on the dial plate (6), wherein an internal surface of the ring (2) is defined with a chamfered portion (11), wherein the chamfered portion (11) cooperates with the concave portion (6d) of the dial plate (6); and
a plurality of markings (3) defined on the chamfered portion (11);
wherein, light incident on the concave portion (6d) of the dial plate (6) reflects onto the chamfered portion (11) of the ring (2) and illuminates the plurality of markings (3), thereby reproducing an image of the plurality of markings (3) on the dial plate (6); and
a movement of the timepiece (100) housed below the dial assembly (101) and supported by the bottom unit (7) of the casing.

12. The timepiece (100) as claimed in claim 11, wherein the bottom unit (7) of the timepiece (100) comprises a back cover (9).

13. The timepiece (100) as claimed in claim 11, comprising a glass (12) provided in the top unit (1) of the timepiece (100).

14. The timepiece (100) as claimed in claim 11, wherein at least one cavity is defined on a top surface of the ring (2) to accommodate a plurality of jewels (5).

15. The timepiece (100) as claimed in claim 11, wherein the inner radial surface (6a) is defined with a provision to receive a stem of the movement for mounting a plurality of hands (4) of the timepiece (100).
