A Die Nut For A Wire Drawing Machine

Abstract: A die-nut for a wire-drawing machine is described. The die-nut includes an elongated body defining an inlet end, an outlet end, and a passage defined between the inlet end and the outlet end. The elongated body being removably positioned in an opening defined at an exit end of a die-box. The passage of the elongated body is defined with a first section of a first diameter and a second section of a second diameter. The first diameter is substantially greater than the second diameter. The profile of the passage ensures that the burnt residue or scale does not get accumulated at the exit of the die avoiding choking at the exit of the die and the die-nut. Conventionally, a slender tube used to be placed the place of elongated body. The burnt residue or scale used to get accumulated in the slender tube and was difficult to clean as it was not approachable, and the waste didn’t flow in the wire direction.
