Abstract: The invention relates to a dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generators, the dovetail block device comprising; wherein a bolt (9), a V-block (10) and a V-block slide (11) and a locking strip (12) releasably joined to from the V-block device wherein a rim punching with dovetail cutout (1) forming a rim assy placed throughout a plurality of dovetail slot for fixing the top and bottom pole connection including the V-block, wherein an adapter stud (3) is used for fixing the top and bottom pole connection and wherein an washer (7) and nut (8) locking the adapter stud.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an arrangement of dovetail block support for pole connection for hydro generators without affecting the performance of hydrogenerator. More particularly, the invention relates to a dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generators.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In prior art, rectangular type support for pole connection of hydro generator were widely practiced as shown in Figure 1A. Figure 1C shows a rim punching with rectangular slot (1) and without rectangular slot but with fixing hole (8). Figure IB displays a rim insert (2), an adaptor stud (3), a locking strip (4), a fixing bolts (5), an insulation washer (6), a steel washer (7), a bolt (9), V-block (10), a V-block slide (11), a locking strip (12), a rim stud (13) & nut (14). In this type pole connection, the rim insert (2) is placed inside the rectangular slot in the rim punching (1). The Rim insert (2) is fixed with the help of said rim stud (13) and nut (14). Top pole connection is made by using said adaptor stud (3), said locking strip (4), said fixing bolt (5), said insulation washer (6) and said steel washer (7). Bottom pole connection is made by using the fixing bolt (5), the locking strip (4), the insulation washer (6) and the steel washer (7). In same arrangement, the V-block (10) with slides (11) are fixed by using the bolt (9) and the locking strip (12) for field coil support. Rectangular type pole connection for hydrogenerator is shown in Figure 1A, 1B & 1C. The prior rectangular type pole connection has following disadvantages:
1. Difficulty in achieving proper alignment of rim slots for rim inserts (2) for fixing of pole connection and v-block (10).
2. At the time of rim assembly, maintaining sufficient height for rim insert slot is difficult and increases erection time.
3. This arrangement is not economical because of using different variants for rim punching (1X8), rim stud(13) & nut(14) and rim inserts(2).
4. Also difficulty at the time of maintenance because of typical arrangement of rectangular type pole connection.
In view of above, novel arrangement of dovetail block support for pole connection using dovetail slot for hydro generators has been explored and invented to facilitate reduction in assembly time and avoid rim punching variants without sacrificing the performance of hydrogenerator.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
It is an object of the invention to propose a dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generators which makes the assembly easier at the time of erection and maintenance.
Another object of the invention is to propose a dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generators, which eliminates variants of rim punching & rim inserts and mitigate the need of alignment of rectangular slots with the use of dovetail slots in the inventive device.
Further object of the invention is to propose a dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generators, which reduces the process time and make the process simpler and easy to maintenance.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, there is provided a dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generators, the dovetail block device comprising; wherein a bolt (9), a V-block (10) and a V-block slide (11) and a locking strip (12) releasably joined to from the V-block device wherein a rim punching with dovetail cutout (1) forming a rim assy placed throughout a plurality of dovetail slot for fixing the top and bottom pole connection including the V-block, wherein an adapter stud (3) is used for fixing the top and bottom pole connection and wherein an washer (7) and nut (8) locking the adapter stud.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION:
In prior art, rim punching variants are required for pole fixing which increases cost and make process complex. Rim punching (1) & (8) laid in such a way that rectangular slot should be placed at the appropriate location of top & bottom
pole connection & v-block (10) fixing. Rim inserts (2) are inserted inside the rectangular slots which in turn is fixed with the help of rim stud (13) & nut(14). Top pole connection is made with the help of fixing bolt (5) which is inserted inside the adaptor stud (3). After that adapter stud (3) is inserted finally in rim insert (2). Bottom pole connection is made with the help of fixing bolt (5) which is inserted inside the rim insert (2). V-block (10) with v-slide (11) is fixed with the help of locking plate (12) & bolt (9) which is inserted inside the rim insert (2). This rectangular type pole connection increases operation time and also creates difficulty during erection and maintenance. Also difficulty faced in alignment of slots with respect to pole connection & V-block (10). The details are shown in Figure IA, IB & 1C.
The dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generator is shown in Figure 2A. Figure 2C consists of rim punching with dovetail cutout(l). Figure 2B displays dovetail block (2), adapter stud (3), locking strip (4), fixing bolt (5), insulation washer(6), special washer(7), nut(8), bolt(9), V-block(10), V-block slide (11) and locking strip(12) are used. Rim punching's (1) with dovetail cutout laid to for rim assembly and no need to maintain alignment and extra cutouts for fixing of top & bottom pole connection & v-block because dovetail cutout is throughout the rim length. Dovetail blocks (2) slides inside the slots to make arrangement as required for assembly, which makes ease of assembly and reduced erection time. This dovetail cutout is made in all punching which reduces operation time. Top & bottom pole connection is made with the help of fixing bolt (5) which is inserted inside the adapted stud (3). After that adapter stud (3) is inserted finally in dovetail block (2) and locked by using special washer (7) and nut (8). V-block (10) with v-slide(ll) is fixed with the help of locking strip (12) & bolt (9) which is inserted inside the dovetail block (2) and locked by using special washer(7) and nut(8).
The dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generator has resulted following advantages:
1. It reduces the operation time due to ease in arrangement process by using sliding dovetail block (2).
2. No alignment required because of dovetail slot is throughout the rim length.
3. Dovetail type pole connection is economical because of using all punching with dovetail slots.
4. Easier at the time of maintenance because of simple arrangement using
dovetail type pole connection.
WE CLAIM :
1. A dovetail block device to support pole connection of hydro generators,
the dovetail block device comprising; wherein a bolt (9), a V-block (10)
and a V-block slide (11) and a locking strip (12) releasably joined to from
the V-block device wherein a rim punching with dovetail cutout (1)
forming a rim assy placed throughout a plurality of dovetail slot for fixing
the top and bottom pole connection including the V-block, wherein an
adapter stud (3) is used for fixing the top and bottom pole connection and
wherein an washer (7) and nut (8) locking the adapter stud.
2. Novel arrangement of dovetail block support for pole connection for hydo
generator as claimed in claim 1, wherein dovetail block (2) is used for
fixing of top and bottom pole connection and V-block.
