"A Fan Assembly"

Abstract: A pedestal (12) for a fan assembly (10) comprises a telescopic duct (18) for conveying an air flow to an outlet of the fan assembly (10). The duct (18) comprises an outer tubular member (34) comprising a first stop member(130), an irmer tubular member (36) located at least partially within and slidable relative to the outer tubular member (34), the irmer tubular member (36) comprising a second stop member (140) for engaging the first stop member (130) to inhibit withdrawal of the inner tubular member (36) from the outer tubular member (34), and a mainspring (150) rotatably mounted on the second stop member (140), the mainspring (150) having a free end (156) retained by the first stop member (130).
