FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fixture for making different layers of high
temperature super conducting tape coil winding for transformer.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The coils in conventional process for making a transformer are made out of strong
copper or aluminium conductors. It does not require glass fibre reinforced polymer
(GFRP) grooved spools for holding conductors. When the conductors are made in a coil
form, it remains in the shape after removing mandrels. Coils are inserted over the core
and the whole core along with winding is immersed in oil. In HTSC transformer core is
made of conventional cold rolled grain oriented silicon steel material and is at room
temperature besides that the HTSC coils are always immersed in liquid nitrogen. HTSC
coils require an extra mechanical support which is provided by the grooved spools.
Furthermore, for making coils out of conventional material, conductor is wound under
tension. Sometimes, it requires to be straightened and given the required shape in coil
form under tension or light hammering, whereas in the case of HTSC tape coil, the
same method is not possible as it may break thin ceramic super conducting layer under
tension.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore, an object of the present invention to propose a fixture for making
different layers of HTSC tape coil winding for power transformer which eliminates the
disadvantages of the existing state of arts for manufacturing HTSC coils for Power
Transformers.
Another object of the present invention is to propose a fixture for making different
layers of HTSC tape coil winding for power transformer which saves time for making a
transformer.
A further object of the present invention is to propose a fixture for making different
layers of HTSC tape coil winding for power transformer which helps in making
multidiameter HTSC tape coil.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is provided with a fixture for making different layers of HTSC
tape coil winding for transformer comprises one glass fibre reinforced polymer spool
which consist of two round shaped end wooden plate disposed a gap in between the
two and four nos. of studs are tied up which are tightened on both ends of the round
plates and one shaft is inserted in the centre hole of plates and tighted at both ends
with check nuts having threads on the shaft and two bearings are affixed at both end in
which shafts of the wooden plates are mounted disposed on the top of a stand. The
stand comprises steel structural frame having four legs which comprises an "A" shaped
steel structure identical at both end which comprises an assembly of two slanting steel
member (14,15) and connected by a cross bar member (16) at the middle and the legs
of steel members are affixed rightly on the floor.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Fig.1 - shows the top view of winding while in operation wherein HTSC tape is winding
to GFRP spools affixed with fixture from source spool.
Fig.2 - shows the side view of GFRP spool mounted in the fixture and the receiving
spool.
Fig.3 - shows the end view of wooden plate having radial slits for long studs.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE
INVENTION
As shown in Fig.2, the fixture is a bobbin shape provided with two round shaped end
wooden plates (6) disposed a gap in between the two having connected by a plurality
of studs (12) and having grooves on the outer surface. Each round shaped end wooden
plate (6) is held in axial position by a check nut (5). Each round shaped end wooden
plate (6) having slit along radial direction at 90°. Studs are used on the inner diameter
of spool to hold it radially and lighted on both ends of the round plates (6). The round
wooden plates are provided with a shaft at the centre hole and tightened at both ends
with two check nuts (5) on both sides having threads on the shaft. Two bearings are
affixed at both end in which the shaft of the wooden plates mounted disposed on the
top of a stand on which the spool rotates. The stand is made of steel structural member
having four legs rigidly mounted with the floor. The stand comprises an "A" shaped
identical steel frame at the both end by assembling two slanting steel members (15,16)
connected by a cross bar member (16) at the middle.
Method of assembling the fixture
One round shaped end wooden plate (6) is placed horizontally. Four studs (12) are
inserted vertically. GFRP spools are placed vertically. Second end wooden plate is
attached to the free end of spool. Studs are tightened on both ends of plates to hold
the spool. This assembly is placed horizontally. The shaft is inserted in the centre hole
of plates and tightened at both ends of with check nuts (5) having threads on the shaft.
Bearings are fixed at both ends over a stand. During winding the source spool stand
can be moved with the help of wheels (11) along the length of GFRP spool. A stand on
which the spool rotates made of steel structure having two identical side ends. Each
side end having "A" shaped steel structure which comprises an assembly of two slanting
steel member (14, 15) connected by a cross bar member (16) at the middle. The four
legs of the stands are rightly fixed on floor. The source spool is fitted on another shaft
and a bearing arrangement fixed over a stand (10). The stand (10) rests on the wheels
(11) at the bottom for moving source spool.
