Claims:1. A lubricity additive formulation for enhancing lubricity of a fuel, the formulation comprising:
(a) 2-ethylhexanoic acid;
(b) at least one alkylene glycol; and
(c) at least one alkanolamine.
2. The lubricity additive formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein 2-ethylhexanoic acid to the at least one alkylene glycol weight ratio is in the range of 1:0.03-1:0.4.
3. The lubricity additive formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein 2-ethylhexanoic acid to the at least one alkanolamine weight ratio is in the range of 1:0.06-1:0.4.
4. The lubricity additive formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one alkylene glycol has ‘n’ carbon atoms, wherein ‘n’ is an integer in the range of 2-10.
5. The lubricity additive formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one alkanolamine has ‘m’ carbon atoms, wherein ‘m’ is an integer in the range of 1-10.
6. The lubricity additive formulation as claimed in claim 1, comprising:
(a) 2-ethylhexanoic acid having weight percentage in the range of 50-90% with respect to the formulation;
(b) at least one alkylene glycol having weight percentage in the range of 3-20% with respect to the formulation; and
(c) at least one alkanolamine having weight percentage in the range of 5-20% with respect to the formulation.
7. A process for preparation of lubricity additive formulation as claimed in claim 1, comprising: (a) contacting 2-ethylhexanoic acid, and at least one alkanolamine to obtain mixture-1; and (b) contacting the mixture-1, and at least one alkylene glycol to obtain the lubricity additive formulation.
8. The process as claimed in claim 7, wherein (a) contacting 2-ethylhexanoic acid, and the at least one alkanolamine to obtain mixture-1 is carried out a temperature in the range of 25-35 °C for a period in the range of 5-15 minutes at a stirring speed in the range of 200-500 rpm; (b) contacting the mixture-1 and the at least one alkylene glycol to obtain lubricity additive formulation is carried out a temperature in the range of 25-35 °C for a period in the range of 50-80 minutes at a stirring speed in the range of 200-500 rpm.
9. A method for enhancing lubricity of a fuel, the method comprising, contacting the lubricity additive formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-6 with a fuel to obtain a fuel composition with enhanced lubricity.
10. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein the lubricity additive formulation has concentration in the range of 20–120 ppm in the fuel composition.
11. The method as claimed in claim 9, wherein the fuel is a diesel having sulphur content in the range of 5–50 ppm.
12. A fuel composition comprising: (a) fuel; and (b) lubricity additive formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1–6.
13. The fuel composition as claimed in claim 12, wherein the fuel is a diesel having sulphur content in the range of 5–50 ppm.
14. A method for preparation of a fuel composition as claimed in claim 12, the method comprising steps of:
(a) obtaining lubricity additive formulation as claimed in any of claims 1-6;
(b) obtaining a fuel; and
(c) contacting the lubricity additive formulation and the fuel to obtain the fuel composition.

15. The method as claimed in claim 14, wherein the fuel is a diesel having sulphur content in the range of 5–50 ppm.
