Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a front body structure (100) of a vehicle to provide protection to an anti-theft alarm (104). The front body structure (100) comprising a front body panel (106), a front bumper grille (101) and a shroud structure (102) where the shroud structure is provided in between the front body panel (106) and the front bumper grille (101). The shroud structure (102) comprising a plurality of guided path to direct the incoming air from the front bumper grille (101) towards radiator-condenser unit and engine cabin and an opening (103) configured to faces the anti-theft alarm (104). A grid structure (103a) is integrated on a segment of the opening (103) to restrict entry of any foreign object to damage a harness (105) of the anti-theft alarm (104).
The present subject matter described herein, relates to a front body structure of a vehicle to protect anti-theft alarm. More particularly, the present invention relates to a shroud structure to restrict entry of any foreign object, such as scissor or hook to cut harness of the anti-theft alarm from front end of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present subject matter.
[0003] Generally, in automotive, grille structures are provided for aesthetic purposes and to allow passage of incoming air from front side towards an engine cabin and a radiator. The grille can be provided as upper grille facing upper body panel and a lower grille facing lower body panel of the front end of the vehicle. The grille structure has a plurality of openings to allow passage of air to dissipate the heat of the engine cabin and to cool down the radiator and condenser.
[0004] For aesthetic point of view and as driven by styling purposes, it is desirable to increase size of the openings of the grille structure. However, with the increase in size of the openings create technical problems such as visibility of body panel, scattered air flow, and easy access to harness of the anti-theft alarm.
[0005] As shown in fig. 1, the grille structure 101 has a plurality of openings 101a (in figure only one opening is focused) which allow easy accessibility to the anti-theft alarm 103 through the shroud structure 102. The shroud structure 102 is provided in between front body panel of the vehicle and the front grille structure
(it can be referred as front bumper grille structure) 101. With the large grille openings, harness of the anti-theft alarm 103 and other internal parts are visible and access for easy damage.
[0006] With mal-intention, a user (for example a thief) can cut harness of the anti-theft alarm 103 with any foreign object, such as scissor or hook with blade so that it does not generate any alarm and vehicle can be stolen.
[0007] Technical objective: is to restrict entry and/or movement of the foreign object to cut or damage the harness of the anti-theft alarm.
[0008] In one of the existing solutions to protect the harness of the anti-theft alarm is to reduce the size of the openings of the grilles so that visibility and accessibility toward the harness is reduced. However, the present solution is not acceptable as it reduces the vehicle styling.
[0009] In another solution, a PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) tube is added on harness of the anti-theft alarm so that damage can be prevented. However, this solution also associated with cost addition on the harness.
[0010] Therefore, there is a need to provide a simple and cost-effective solution for the present technical problem without increasing cost and complexity in structure and by maintaining style of the vehicle with large size openings.

[0041] Referring to FIG. 2, illustrates an exploded view of a front body structure 100 of a vehicle having a front bumper grille structure 101 with a plurality of openings 101a, a shroud structure 102 and a front body panel 106. The shroud structure 102 is provided in between the front bumper grille structure 101 and the front body panel 106 of the vehicle. The shroud structure 101 defines a plurality of mounting provisions 102a (as shown in FIG. 3) to mount the shroud structure 102 with the front body panel 106 of the vehicle. The shroud structure 102 is made of resin or plastic material where primary function of the shroud structure 102 is to direct incoming air from front bumper grille 101 towards radiator-condenser unit and engine cabin for dissipating the heating. Secondary function of the shroud structure 102 is to cover the inner parts and front body panel 106 of the vehicle for aesthetic point of view.
[0042] The shroud structure 102 defines a plurality of guided path to direct the incoming air towards the radiator-condenser unit and the engine cabin to maintain temperature. Further, the shroud structure 102 defines an opening 103 provided to allow unrestricted flow of sound from the anti-theft alarm 104 in forward direction, where the anti-theft alarm 104 is mounted on the front body panel 106. The anti-theft alarm 104 is coupled with a harness 105 for communication of signals, such as malfunction signal or theft signals.
[0043] As shown in figs. 2 and 5, the opening 103 of the shroud structure 102 is configured to faces the anti-theft alarm 104 which is mounted on the front body panel 106 of the vehicle.
[0044] Referring to figs. 2, 3, 5, and 6, a grid structure or chequered structure 103a is integrated on a segment of the opening 103 to restrict entry of any foreign object 107 (as shown in figs. 7a and 7b) to damage the harness 105 of the anti-theft alarm 104. The grid structure or chequered structure 103a is integrated with the shroud structure 103.
[0045] In an embodiment, the opening 103 may define a shape which is complementary to the shape of the anti-theft alarm 104. Where size or dimension of the opening 103 is more than size or dimensions of the anti-theft alarm 104.
[0046] As shown in figs. 2-6, the opening 103 defines a circular shape which is complementary to circular shape of the anti-theft alarm 104. However, shape of the opening 103 is not restricted to circular, it can be of any shape which is complementary to the shape of the anti-theft alarm 104. As shown in figs. 3 and 5, diameter 'D' of the opening 103 is more than diameter 'd' of the anti-theft alarm 104. With the present configuration, the opening 103 of the shroud structure 102 may receive front circular portion of the anti-theft alarm 104. The opening 103 may define a circular shape where the grid structure or chequered structure 103a is provided at a minor segment of the opening 103.
[0047] As shown in figs. 3 and 5, the grid structure 103a is provided on front surface of the shroud structure 102 where the front surface faces the front bumper grille 101.
[0048] In another embodiment, the grid structure 103a is provided on rear surface
of the front bumper grille 101 where the rear surface faces the shroud structure
102 and harness portion of the vehicle.
[0049] Fig. 4 shows rear view of fig. 3 where the anti-theft alarm 104 is coupled
with the harness 105 and is provided with the opening 103 of the shroud structure
102.
[0050] Fig. 6 illustrate front view of the frond body structure 100 of the vehicle
where the front bumper grille structure 101 defines the plurality of openings 101a
having sufficient large size to allow passage of any foreign object, such as scissor or hook shape cutter as shown in the figs. 7A and 7B.
[0051] Referring to Figs 7A and 7B illustrate are cross-sectional view of the front body structure 100 of the vehicle where the shroud structure 102 with the grid structure 103a at the segment which covers the harness 105 of the anti-theft alarm 104 prevents accessibility of the harness 105 from front end of the vehicle. As shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, movement of the foreign object 107 such as scissor or hook shaped cutter is prevented by the grid structure 103a provided on the shroud structure 102.
TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES [0052] The present disclosure provides a shroud structure in between front bumper grille and front body panel of vehicle to protect harness of anti-theft alarm.
[0053] The present disclosure provides a shroud structure that provide no change in bumper or grille styling and its opening.
[0054] The present disclosure provides a shroud structure that provide no change in anti-theft alarm or siren layout and harness routing.
[0055] The present disclosure provides a shroud structure that decreases the complexity and cost.
