Claims:1. A fuel injector (10), said fuel injector (10) comprising at least:
- an injector body (12), said injector body comprising a first end and 5 (12a) and second
end (12b);
- a solenoid housing (14) fitted into said second end (12b) of said injector body (12);
- a solenoid component (16) located in said solenoid housing (14);
- a drain socket (18) fitted onto said solenoid component (16) in said operative
10 configuration of said injector;
- an armature bolt (20) located along the axis of said solenoid component (16); and
- a valve spring (22) located such that it circumferentially hold a portion of said
armature bolt (20) on one end and abuts a portion of said drain socket (18);
characterized in that:
15 - a spacer (24) located such that at least one portion of said spacer (24) abuts said
valve spring (22);
- a setting screw (26) located on top of said spacer (24) in the operative configuration
of siad fuel injector (10); and
- a lock screw (28) located on top of said setting screw in the operative configuration
20 of said fuel injector (10)
2. The fuel injector (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said setting screw (26) is in
screw engagement with said drain socket (18) of said fuel injector (10).
25 3. The fuel injector (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said lock screw (28) is in
screw engagement with said drain socket (18) of said fuel injector (10).
4. The fuel injector (10) as claimed in claim 2 and 3, wherein said setting screw (26)
and said lock screw (28) are in screw engagement with said drain socket (18) through
30 external threads on the setting screw (26) and external threads on said lock screw (28).
5. The fuel injector (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said drain socket (18) has
internal threads to receive the external threads of the setting screw (26) and lock screw
(28).
6. The fuel injector (10) as claimed in claim 4, wherein pitch of said 5 external threads
of said setting screw (26) and pitch of said external threads of said lock screw (28) are
equal.
7. The fuel injector (10) as claimed in claim 4, wherein pitch of said external thread
10 of said setting screw (26) is greater than the pitch of the external threads of said lock screw
(28).
8. The fuel injector (10) as claimed in claim 4, wherein pitch of said external thread
of said setting screw (26) is lesser than the pitch of the external threads of said lock screw
(28). , Description:The fuel injector comprises at least: an injector body 12, the injector body comprising a
first end and (12a) and second end (12b). A solenoid housing (14) fitted into the second
end (12b) of the injector body (12). A solenoid component (16) located 5 in the solenoid
housing (14). A drain socket (18) fitted onto the solenoid component (16) in the operative
configuration of the fuel injector 10. The fuel injector 10 is characterized such that the fuel
injector 10 comprises a spacer 24 located such that at least one portion of the spacer 24
abuts the valve spring 22; a setting screw 26 located on top of the shim 24 in the operative
10 configuration of the fuel injector 10 and a lock screw 28 located on top of the setting screw
in the operative configuration of the fuel injector 10.
