, Description:Complete Specification:
The following specification describes and ascertains the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
Field of the invention
[0001] The invention relates to a fuel pump

Background of the invention
[0002] A fuel pump is an essential component on a car or other internal combustion engine device. A fuel system for an internal combustion engine of an automobile with a fuel pump module in a fuel tank and connected by only a fuel delivery line to the fuel rail and injectors of an engine. The speed of an electric motor driving a fuel pump is varied by electronic circuitry to maintain constant the fuel pressure at the injectors while automatically compensating for the quantity of fuel delivered to the injectors. A manifold of the fuel pump has a check valve, which maintains fuel pressure at the rail, and injectors when the engine and pump are shut off and a relief valve, which transfers fuel, back into the tank in the event the rail and injectors are subjected to an overpressure condition.

[0003] The patent application IN02019CH2014A discloses a control system from selective catalytic reduction for Genset and method thereof. The invention relates to a control system 100 for selective catalytic reduction for Genset comprising a fuel pump 2 for supplying fuel to the Genset. A controller 6 adapted to receive input from the sensor 4 and calculate a duty cycle for a dosing module 10. And a driving means 7 to receive a signal from the controller 6 and drive the dosing module 10 with the calculated duty cycle.

Brief description of the accompanying drawings:
[0004] Different modes of the invention are disclosed in detail in the description and illustrated in the accompanying drawing:

[0005] FIG. 1 illustrates a fuel system arrangement according to an embodiment in the invention.

Detailed description of the embodiments
[0006] Figure 1 illustrates a fuel system arrangement 100 according to an embodiment of the disclosure. A fuel pump 101 comprises a first set 103 of flow path for supplying fuel from fuel pump 101 to an engine 102. The fuel pump 101 comprises a second set 104 of flow path located between fuel pump 101 and a dosing module 105. The second set 105 of flow path adapted to deliver fuel from fuel pump 101 to dosing module 105.

[0007] Here the first set 103 of flow path and second set 104 of flow path can have any number of the flow pipe and not limited to any particular number. The main aim is to have a fuel pipe connection between the fuel pump 101 and the engine 102 by first set of flow path 103 and fuel pipe connection between the fuel pump 101 and the dosing module 105 by the second set 104 of flow path. Here the pressurizing element for first set 103 of flow path and the second set 104 of flow path are similar.

[0008] In the fuel system arrangement 100, the fuel from the fuel tank 106 is pumped by the fuel pump 101 and communicated to engine via a pressurizing element (101a, 101b). The fuel to the engine 102 flows from the fuel pump 101 based on the engine requirement that is governed by the governor. The governor is located in the fuel system arrangement 100. The fuel to the dosing module 105 flows from the fuel pump 101 continuously without any governing element.

[0009] According to an embodiment of the disclosure, the dosing module 105 comprises a dosing valve 105a, dosing injector 105b, and a pressure sensor 105c. The dosing module 105 doses the hydrocarbon or fuel into the exhaust when the pressure across the diesel particulate filter in dosing module 105 reaches beyond a certain limit. A pressure sensor 105c measures the pressure across the diesel particulate filter in dosing module 105. The pressure sensor 105c is used to measure pressure before the dosing valve 105a in order to dose the right fuel pressure at the dosing valve 105a and dosing injector 105b.

[0010] In the above-disclosed disclosure, in the fuel system arrangement 100, a control unit 107 controls the dosing module 105. The processing of the pressure signals from the pressure sensor 105c and control of the valve for example the dosing valve 105b and the safety valve are all done through the control unit 107.

[0011] The working of the fuel pump 101 is disclosed here. In the fuel system arrangement 100, the fuel pump 101 from the fuel tank 106 pumps the fuel to the engine 102. Based on the engine requirement, the fuel flows to the engine 102 by first set 103 of flow path. In addition, the fuel pump 101 pumps the fuel from the fuel tank 106 and fuel flows through the second set 104 of flow path to the dosing module 105 for regeneration process.

[0012] In the fuel arrangement system 100, the fuel pump 101 refers to any kind of pump for example a mechanical pump and not restricted to any type of pump. By using this fuel system arrangement 100 in the conventional fuel pump the dosing module can be enabled.
The arrangement 100 is also economic as no separate dosing supply pump is required for fuel flow into the dosing module 105. The inline fuel injection pumps are able to meet the next emission norms by enabling this fuel system arrangement 100.

[0013] ‘Adapted’ or ‘arranged’, in the context of the instant disclosure, refers to the technical capability or the technical capacity of a component, in relation to which the term ‘adapted’ or ‘arranged’ is used, to carry out or executed a specified action or actions, upon the requirement of the specified action or actions to be carried out or executed. Moreover, the usage of the term ‘adapted’ or ‘arranged’ here, is in reference with the normal technical capability or technical capacity of the component, imparted by the design or the structure or the composition of the component, and not in reference with any special or extraneous capability or capacity, beyond the scope of the normal technical capability or technical capacity. Therefore, there is a need to address this problem

[0014] It should be understood that embodiments explained in the description above are only illustrative and do not limit the scope of this invention. Many such embodiments and other modifications and changes in the embodiment explained in the description are envisaged. The scope of the invention is only limited by the scope of the claims.
