A Fuel Supply System For A Single Cylinder Engine And A Method Thereof

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a fuel supply system for a single cylinder engine and a method for the same. The system comprises a fuel storage unit (300) mountable onto an engine block (100) which is fluidly connectable to a fuel supply unit to store a pressurised fuel, and orientation of the fuel storage unit (300) is configured to be independent of a crankshaft axis (A-A). At least one fuel injector (102) is fluidly connectable to the fuel storage unit (300), which is configured to supply the pressurised fuel stored in the fuel storage unit (300) to the engine for combustion. Further, the method comprises acts of storing pressurized fuel in a fuel storage unit (300), receiving signal by at least one fuel injector (102) from a control unit of the engine, and supplying pressurised fuel by the injector (102) to the engine for combustion. Specification

CLIAMS:We claim:
1. A fuel supply system (200) for a single cylinder engine, the system (200) comprising:
a fuel storage unit (300) mountable onto an engine block (100), wherein the fuel storage unit (300) is fluidly connectable to a fuel supply unit to store a pressurised fuel;
wherein, orientation of the fuel storage unit (300) is configured to be independent of a crankshaft axis (A-A); and
at least one fuel injector (102) fluidly connectable to the fuel storage unit (300), wherein the at least one fuel injector (102) is configured to supply the pressurised fuel stored in the fuel storage unit (300) to the engine for combustion.

2. The system (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one fuel injector (102) is interfaced with a control unit of the engine.

3. The system (200) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the control unit is configured to control the at least one injector (102) to meter the fuel depending on engine speed and load conditions.

4. The system (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein shape of the fuel storage unit (300) is at least one of cylindrical, spherical, elliptical, hemi-spherical and oval.

5. The system (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein orientation of the fuel storage unit (300) is at least one of vertical, inclined and parallel to the crankshaft axis (A-A).

6. The system (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one fuel injector (102) is configured to inject the pressurised fuel to at least one of combustion chamber and intake manifold of the engine.

7. The system (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fuel storage unit (300) is mounted onto the engine block (100) through at least one mounting member (101b).

8. The system (200) as claimed in claim 7, wherein the at least one mounting member (101b) is at least one of a bracket and a clamp.

9. A method for supplying fuel to a single cylinder engine, the method comprising acts of:
storing pressurized fuel in a fuel storage unit (300), wherein the fuel storage unit (300) is fluidly connectable to a fuel supply unit;
wherein the fuel storage unit (300) is configured to be independent of a crankshaft axis (A-A);
receiving signal by at least one fuel injector (102) from a control unit of the engine, wherein the at least one fuel injector (102) is fluidly connected to the fuel storage unit (300); and
supplying the pressurised fuel stored in the fuel storage unit (300) by the at least one fuel injector (102) to the engine for combustion.

10. The method as claimed in claim 9 comprises act of metering fuel stored in the fuel storage unit (300) to the at least one injector (102) depending on engine speed and load conditions.
